He's seemed oddly desperate for money not only about twitter, but also how he's the 1 or 2 wealthiest person in the world yet feels the need to run crypto pump-and-dump scams and game the stock market.

Interesting. New Zealand seems like an odd choice for a prepper bunker. I’m sure it is wonderful to live there now, but that seems irrelevant if civilization collapsed. I have been working under the assumption that there were billionaire bunkers littering the Rockies and Appalachians.
Personally, if I was a billionaire, I would go full Fallout and build several sustainable vaults of various kinds that could each hold enough people to rebuild the human race from. That and dump every spare dollar possible into an off-world colony.
So, I am starting to really believe his goal is to just drive a stake into the heart of twitter.
Either that, or he is trying to prove a point regarding something.
I don’t think there is any possible way, he is so dumb as to make all of these horrible decisions regarding twitter… This has got to be destroying twitter by design, on purpose.
I mean, seriously… he has done literally everything that you SHOULDN’T do. Fire the majority of the company. Destroy over a decade worth of very good branding. Alienate all investors. Alienate the user base. Piss off the remaining users more. Drive away advertisers…
FFS, the dude has a company that sends rockets into space, and previously, the world’s premier electric car company… What in the hell is his odd obsession with choking the life out of twitter, that has been costing him money left and right due to absolutely horrible publicity.
I’m deeply introverted but prefer in-office. I’m in a leadership position and gently encourage staff to work in office too when possible. It’s not for socializing and awful pizza parties, and you don’t have to tell me about your weekend hobbies if you don’t want to.
For me it’s mainly because my work requires technical skills, problem solving, and creativity, which means it’s very helpful for me to know my staff really well in order to properly review their work. If I see something that looks odd it’s really helpful to know ‘Mary did this and that’s her strength so I’m probably wrong’ or ‘Steve did this and he sucks in this area so it probably is wrong’ etc. WFH removes all that and everyone is just a disembodied talking head, or worse, emails and texts only, so I have no idea who I’m talking to.
I truly get the allure and I still wfh when appropriate but again I encourage in office as much as possible.

And isn't it funny how the gods are always concerned with the same things their worshippers are? It would be odd to care deeply about regulating the sexual and dietary habits of the ants in our backyards. If god(s) were real I'd expect their interests to be wild and beyond our understanding, and not about what hats humans can wear and what meat is acceptable.

Trust me, as someone who was military, they care about how exact you are when making the bed. It's not just about following orders, it's how well you follow them and your attention to detail.
Oddly, my military experience also focused on how to break rules, and how to know which ones to break. That and the knowledge that there was a waiver for everything.
Look, I know the forecast was for Saturday to be the last hot day of the year, but I thought we might have a few days of grey before the start of all-out autumn rainstorms.
It appears they were partying before the protest even started
As for taking pictures and recording, it’s not every day you see a protest so it makes sense to record it (the person who made the original source also recorded it)
There wasn’t much laughing - at most there was the odd smile. There was one bold guy who was laughing but the vast majority were just using the balcony like a normal person would
That doesn’t make flying any less dangerous in general, and it’s already pretty dangerous as it is. Add to that a bunch of tiny little flying vehicles buzzing around, and it the odds of more mid-air collisions (and their result and ground crashes) rises significantly.
I don’t mean highly skilled work. Approximately 10 million undocumented immigrants work low paying jobs and are deprived of any sort of benefits or protection under law such as minimum wage, overtime, health benefits, OSHA protections, unemployment and workers compensation for injuries. Oddly they tend to work for businesses owned by conservatives such as meatpacking, agriculture, roofing, and construction. These businesses are well aware that they are hiring people who do not have legal authorization to work in the US. At the same time, they support politicians who demonize immigrants and have made absolutely no effort to legitimize the legal status of their workforce. Huh, I wonder why.
I’d really like a vintage Rolex at some point. I just like them. A friend gifted me a broken Breitling. I ended up getting it repaired for $200. I love it. I’m not a fancy watch guy but I really appreciate them. The Breitling I wear a few times per month. I could see getting an omega at some point too.
The Tissot is my daily work watch. Classy. Professional. I dress up a bit more than most but I like the look. The watch totally ties it all together, unlike some silly apple watch.
G Shock is my weekend / outdoor watch. I love how sturdy it is. I’ve got a few odd ball fun watches that come out occasionally too.
No, I’m continuing the original statements I made. That covid is causing long term health issues, and while vaccines can lower the odds of long term impacts they do not prevent them. The only way to prevent long covid is to not get Covid.
I agree masks are cost prohibitive, I support free distribution of n95s or elastomeric and fit testing in communities, but how are they limiting where folks go? When we had widescale masking I was able to go the places I wanted, safely. I disagree that asking people to stay home while sick is a drastic reduction in freedom, I actually believe people’s desire to go in public and spread disease that can cause serious problems for them is a much great reduction in overall freedom. Another drastic reduction in freedom is what people who don’t want to get covid have been experiencing, which is being cut off from all public life. One-way masking is not enough, it’s like wearing a helmet in a monster truck rally, helpful but insufficient. Even hospitals are not places one can go without getting ill.
I can’t convince you to care about yours and others wellbeing. I believe that freedom is something we share and create for each other, not simply being able to move about and do whatever I want as an individual. I truly hope you educate yourself on the risks of covid and take proper care to avoid it. Peace.
We’re not having a discussion about grammar, we’re having a discussion about how phrases can be misleading even if technically correct, and how those phrases can end up serving inhuman agendas.
We’re having a discussion about the way a person wrote a headline, and I explained that, rather than believe an elaborate conspiracy theory, you could acknowledge that this is just the way English grammatical structures work.
The alternative to “hit by a train” is going to be multiple sentences long to convey the same information. Your conspiracy theory about it being a deflection falls apart because the entire article is about how the officer is legally and ethically at fault, accepts that, and that the family understands that.
“Trapped prisoner in path of train” oddly enough, is slanted language with misleading nuances.
