Definitely at least once a week, though usually more than that.

I don’t have a headphone jack.

Even if I had one, I haven’t been able to buy wired headphones that aren’t crap quality that don’t hurt my ears. Last time I bought wired headphones (more accurately earbuds) they were tinny knock off garbage being sold on Amazon as a legitimate product, and that was years ago.

Crap quality bluetooth headphones that hurt your ears cost twice as much as wired, but go on

pandacoder ,

There’s only one company I’ve found that makes headphone shapes that don’t hurt my ears and they stopped making wired variants years ago. Last time I got an actually authentic pair was ~2017.

The void they left behind got flooded by knockoff junk that isn’t worth buying (bought 2 pairs in 2018 trying to find a replacement, they were tinny garbage).

If I could find a wired version that sounded good for under $50 I’d get them immediately so I can stop dealing with Bluetooth connection issues when I’m on my computer.

What company? I know a number of them have been bought out and ruined over the years.

You may be able to find a replacement by asking after similar styles on an enthusiast forum (like Head-Fi).

You have a phone with a headphone jack? Who are you, 2012?

AnalogyAddict ,

I use it exclusively. No Bluetooth headphones for me.

Every. Single. Day.

My cars bluetooth is broken, so I connect my phone via headphone jack. This way I can still use my cars speakers and mic to receive phone calls and listen to music or audiobooks on my one hour drive to work.

I also despise bluetooth headphones. My phones batteries last longer since I don’t use bluetooth anymore and I can’t be bothered to not lose them and always have them charged when I want to use them.

With my good wired Bose headphones I pay a third of what the wireless crap would cost, have better sound and they are always ready, easily to take care of and at worst slightly tangled from being crammed into a jeans pocket.

Xander_Meters ,

Every day as my headphones have a wire aswell as bluetooth. The latency is definitely there while the wire sounds fuller too. Im sure there difference would be mitigated with a more expensive pair of headphones but I also need to be battery concious with my 5 year old phone and bluetooth drains faster.

Bluetooth earbuds are everything younger me dreamed of when dealing with when taking a tangled wire mess out of my pocket.

Agent641 ,

I use it every day, to store valuable pocket lint and bits of dirt.

I definitely used it when I had it on my previous phone. These days though… bluetooth headphones are good enough for me for calls, podcasts and YouTube. So I just use those.

Darcranium ,

I use mine 2x per week and despise Bluetooth for many of the reasons described in this thread by others

silverdiamond ,

I’ve been using a phone without a headphone jack for 3 years now with galaxy buds, if i didn’t accidentally break the included usbc headset id be using that instead (even on pc) but i did so now i use the headphone jack on my wireless xbox controller on pc (connected to my pc via usb because my motherboard’s audio makes noises when the pc is basically doing anything and echoes my mic into my left ear on windows (not a toggle in software or anything but said problem goes away if i power cycle pc by psu and then boot into linux)) and on phone i get to deal with Bluetooth and if i did have a usbc headset again i wouldn’t be able to use it and charge the phone in a practical way (wireless charging is an option but my phone discharges faster than it changes wired (when connected to pc), wireless charging is even slower)

cley_faye ,

If my current phone had one, I would use it daily. Unfortunately it doesn’t, so I moved to bluetooth headset. This means charging regularly, (very) occasional drop in connection in crowded space. The only alternative is an USB C adapter I could use, but then I’d have to unplug/replug it everytime I want to charge my phone.

I will look for a phone with a jack for my next one, but if the current trend keep going it might not be an option (not an affordable one).

I haven’t used wired earphones or headphones in maybe 4 years now. No way I would go back to being tethered to my PC and/or dealing with tangled wires, especially with how well the newer versions of Bluetooth work.

hemko ,

I bought nice fancy wireless earbuds once, and lost one of them like 2 weeks in when I fell to river with bicycle. Maybe it’s a 1 in a million case, but showed a good reason to not have wireless buds

Contend6248 ,

TBF most likely both would’ve been gone by then

hemko ,

I had both on me when I fell, but only lost one.

Anyways, accidents are a common when doing sports so it’s always a good chance to lose those small things. Clear win for wires there

foggy ,

I did until it was taken away from me. I would still use them regularly. I still out my phone in my pocket upside down on habit.

I fucking hate wireless headphones. I miss my wired headphones.

woodgen ,

I also hate wireless headphones and use wired USB-C headphones. One fewer thing to charge.
