Use to, until my new phone no longer had one. I miss my corded headphones.

Yeah, I was using mine right up until they took it away from me. Now I use bluetooth or my chromecast, both which have their own problems.

I use it a few times a month. I’ve got fantastic Bluetooth earbuds, but occasionally in zoom calls I’ll switch from my PC to my phone on the fly, and the wired PC headset comes with me since it’s got a nice microphone and noise cancelling. I can’t imagine trying to switch quickly like this with Bluetooth!

I also tend to use wired headphones when commuting in busy areas (city train stations etc.) as Bluetooth falls apart in these conditions… dropouts piss me off. I listen to offline MP3s for the same reason.

I’ve gone without before - my last phone didn’t have a headphone jack and I never bothered with the USBC dongle because it was a pain - but having the flexibility is more convenient.

I only upgrade every 4-5 years, so it makes it easier to find a newish phone that has a headphone jack. It frustrates me that new laptops still include headphone jacks, but most new phones don’t. It’s a stupid inconsistency.

time_lord ,

I don’t, but I’ve had about 5 years to replace all of my perfectly good cables with crappy bluetooth audio/dongles.

brsrklf ,

Every time I need headphones.

Wireless is more hassle than convenience. Bluetooth, especially for audio, is rather shit and having to charge batteries is annoying.

And speaking of batteries, earbuds are yet another bit of trash you are just supposed to throw away when they stop working, because there’s nothing you’ll be able to do about it.

redshift ,

Every day. Removing them is ridiculous and pointless.

Maggoty ,

I used it right up until I didn’t have a port in the phone for it anymore. Wired is 100% more reliable for headphones. I’m not even an audiophile, I just hate how Bluetooth drops and comes back wherever it wants. If we’re going to do wireless then we need a better protocol.

Anyone else find it annoying to have to constantly charge your earbuds. I’ve been so used to just plugging my headphones in and forgetting them. I’m tired of constant “low battery” because I forgot to charge them last night.

My new phone doesn’t have a headphone jack. Anyways I currently use my old phone daily because I hate how blue tooth audio is always slightly delayed. Watching videos is such a pain in the ass. Also it’s next to impossible to find non earbud Bluetooth headphones making my corded headset a must for listening to anything for extended periods of time. Especially when traveling iny home state where earbuds hold air pressure.

Maggoty ,

I’m using the Bose QC line. It’s fine for normal use, if a little pricey. There’s obviously still the bluetooth delay though.

Holy $329. I recall my corded headset was $20 I believe and it’s been quite comfortable and nice. So man with that price tag I’d friggin hope they’d do something about the Bluetooth delay. Man blue tooth is pricey.

Maggoty ,

Yeah there’s a reason I linked the refurbished ones. There are cheaper ones though, these are noise cancelling which is a thing I desperately need.

impossible to find non earbud Bluetooth headphones

Look up the Anker Soundcore headsets.

tocopherol ,

All the Anker bluetooth gear I’ve used has been great, better than the Beats or Sony product that was comparable but much more expensive for no added performance, maybe higher quality materials though as the Anker Life Q20s I had did fall apart a bit, but I used them a ton.

I have the Life 2 Neos and I’ve beat the shit out of them and they still work just fine. For reference of what I mean beat the shit out of, I used to be an apartment maintenance technician and I’ve hit them, dropped them, all sorts of abuse.

tocopherol ,

I definitely put them through hell before they came apart, the actual audio and charge still works great though, I just need a new housing lol.

KiloGex ,

I bought wireless headphones about 4 years ago and haven’t used wired since. Even when playing through speakers, in my car, and all that I just use Bluetooth.

Ilflish ,

A very simple I used it all the time until I got wireless earphones. It’s bizarre to think people just forget that headphones can be expensive so people still have wired ones

Sunk into the Samsung ecosystem. When they stopped including a headphone jack on my phone I had to go and buy Bluetooth earbuds. I have a practically unused pair of Shure wired earbuds that are fantastic that I simply can’t use.

coffeebiscuit ,

There are USB-c to mini-Jack cables/dongles.

If you play rhythm games you just have to

I don’t use it much, but I do appreciate the one I have on my phone, since I don’t always have my BT earbuds with me. Whereas I usually always have some cheap wired earbuds somewhere with me.

Fridgeratr ,

I would use it, IF I HAD ONE

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

I use it every time I listen to music.
