My Steam Deck has been quite crashy with Halls of Torment. Wondering if the new firmware might help. No idea of how long, or whether this kind of firmware update will eventually get pushed by Valve out to Stream decks in a stable version update. Should I wait or god forbid try to learn how to do the update myself prior?
Enshrouded, the big open world survival and crafting game from Keen Games, just had the big Enshrouded: Melodies of the Mire update released.
Some of what’s new includes a new area called The Blackmire that has new quests, gameplay challenges, new enemies and much more.
There’s also a big improvement to player progression, with individual multiplayer quests, so you can do them with or without friends while playing online.
It was really bad in lots of areas, especially as you explored more and built more, it just wasn’t good.
Buried right at the bottom of the patch notes they mentioned “Enshrouded has been further optimized for the Steam Deck.”
Even if you play on desktop, optimisations for devices like Steam Deck should help improve performance overall.

I still need to finish that game. All these years later and I still haven’t been as far as that guy in white that can snack your sword around. I’ve seen the name but never remember it since I haven’t encountered him yet.
Mosquitoes and flies will drain me if I decide to stop for more than a millisecond. The really is no respite until you’re in the sun, which is not ideal
This photo confused my brain, which initially thought it was a green screen wall with trees projected onto the upper half as if looking through a VR headset.
The Linux user share on Steam has smashed through the 2% barrier.
Not actually for the first time though, it did initially rise up above 2% in March 2013, shortly after the original Steam for Linux release when it left Beta.
Part of the reason it had higher numbers at the start, was that Valve added a special Tux item into Team Fortress 2 only on Linux but it quickly dropped in the following months.
With the latest info though from the May 2024 survey, Linux has now hit 2.32%.
If I have my historical data correct, we haven’t seen Linux be over 2% since 2013.
Take into account the explosive growth of Steam as a platform and that’s quite a lot of people now.
