Recommendations for lightweight wiki servers?
I currently run a personal wiki for some notes, recipes, and stuff. It’s set up using Wiki.js as the server. I’m the only regular user, and I feel like it’s a bit of an overkill....

Or would it be better to split it up on multiple devices? Or maybe just upgrade to a single RPi4 or 5 mod. B?
After self hosting several services for a few users, with SSO, backups, hardware issues etc, I really appreciate how good the IT was in my old company. Everything was connected, smooth, slick and you could tell it was secure. I had very few issues and when I did, they were quickly solved. Doing this all at scale for thousands of...
I would love to hear everyone’s opinion.
I thought I’d share my experience doing this, as it was quite a pain, and maybe this will help someone else. It contains the process I took to set it all up, and the workarounds, and solutions that I found along the way....
The backup doc from Immich states that one should use Postgres’ dump functionality to backup the database, as well as copy the upload location....
I run an old desktop mainboard as my homelab server. It runs Ubuntu smoothly at loads between 0.2 and 3 (whatever unit that is)....
Hello everyone!...
I would like to use a SIM7600X 4G Expansion Board (like this one) to connect my raspberry pi to the mobile network....
I already have my keepassxc and syncthing setup on my phone and computers and it’s great, I’d like to go a step further and have my password database sync when I’m not on my home network. From my understanding I can use relays set up by other users and they are encrypted, but if I do not trust syncing personal (encrypted)...
I am not sure if this is the best place to post it or even if it is allowed, but I figured if I find someone using Shaarli it would be around here....
I’m trying to decide how to import my Google Photos Takeout backup. I see two general ways:...
So I have been running a fair amount of selfhosted services over the last decade or so. I have always been running this on a Ubuntu LTS distribution running on a intel NUC machine. Most, if not all of my services run in a docker container, and using a docker compose file that brings everything up. The server is headless. I...
Weekly share. As usual, not my blog, just a good community share. Authors are on Mastodon at [email protected].
Hi all, I’ve got a cheap Celeron box running OPNSense and it’s been pretty good so far, but I found twice that the device turned off at some point while I was at work, and I have been unable to figure out what’s causing it....
Setting up my server as a newbie some years ago, I did not have the ability to purchase more then one 8TB hard drive. Outgrew that rather quick and now I have two additional 16TB drives, in a Just A Bunch Of Disk configuration, mounted to different /mnt mount points. I know this is not ideal, but lacking the ability to expand...
I’ve had fun building a plucky little homelab on Proxmox 8.1.4 running kernel 6.5.13-1-pve. It’s installed on an HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Desktop Mini PC, with the OS installed on a SATA SSD, there being a 4tb NVME btrfs pool, and there being multiple HDD’s connected via USB3. Services are run an an LXC that has Docker...

I’m sitting here thinking about projects, wishing I could fire up a new VM and install Debian while I sit here on the couch. Then I would have a fresh VM ready to go after I recover from sitting on the couch....
You may have noticed a few of my posts here, I am very interested in self-hosting and what advice can you give to a newbie? maybe some literature, video, I don’t know~
I recently purchased a Dell PowerEdge R730 at a killer price, and intend it to be the cornerstone of my home lab. I plan to use it as both a NAS and a container server so I can set up whatever I want with it. I’m a bit unsure of what a good setup here looks like, so I’m hoping for a bit of guidance....
What do you guys use to expose private IP addresses to the web? I was using the npm proxy manager with Cloudflare CDN. However, it stopped working after I changed my router (I keep getting error 521). Looking for an alternative to Cloudflare cdn so I can access my media server/self-hosted services away from LAN....
