Apart from nearly 2/3 of Americans polled wanting permanent DST, the massive technological advancement, interconnectedness of the entire world, and an ever-growing proportion of renewable energy?
You’re ignoring the fact that technological advancement is exponential, not linear; world interconnectedness; energy storage; and other renewable energy sources such as geothermal, hydro, and wind.
What is in bad faith? I hold the premise that nothing has specifically changed that would make people actually like the sunrise/sunset time change given it was tried before.
You claimed “technology” without giving specific reasons. You claimed renewable energy despite it only being 20% of today’s energy generation.
You are the one who is making bad faith arguments. Then you are getting mad because you have nothing to support your opinion.
Well i don’t really have a choice as i want to code some stuff for my smartwatch (pine time) and also wanted to take a look at the code of the hyprland window manager (wich is written in C++ afaik)
Ah…well fair enough. I personally prefer plain C but I know nothing about the pine time or what languages are available and even then Hypr and Hyprland are C++ so you are trapped there…sway ftw lol. Also my pedantic side dictates I must say this even though it’s irrelevant…but technically Hyprland is a Wayland compositor and while they do manage windows a window manager is an X term…
If you iteratively solve problems by learning, building models, and trying hard to break said models until a sufficiently robust one remains - welcome to engineering.
At some jobs, I can get away with “Señor Developer” or “Computer Toucher”. Those are the nice ones.
Otherwise it tends to be “Senior Software Engineer” that carries the least constricting baggage.
I SWEAR big company middle managers hear “developer” and they can only ever see you as an infant who without guidance would just keep coding some absolute random shit and not think about product, market, customers, integration, or prioritize their own work.
