Example I think lemmy.world has more sorting features compared to other servers and different software I also assume. So how does that work when communicating with other servers that don’t have code as sophisticated or lack certain features?
I was thinking about if it made sense for games to keep their DRM if a cracked version has been released due to the issues DRM can occasionally cause for the consumer....
Should I look into their source code and apply PR for my translation?
Like I don’t understand why she act so nice sometimes, then 5 minutes later become a horrible monster, then half an hour later, she calms down and seems nice again? Like I swear I feel like I’m (metaphorically) constantly shifting through different timelines and sometimes I exist in a timeline where she’s nice, sometime I...
I must be missing something, but I am trying to get a general news thread at the top of the community and do not see how to sticky it....
I see a temperature map of the sea around Italy reaching above 30 C today. Obviously the sea water hasn’t this cozy temperature deep beneath the surface yet, maybe in a few decades, so where is the measurement taken depth wise?
Ok this is an odd one. If I am on an Iphone running wefwef (now voyager) and i search for (just for example) [email protected] it will find that community. But if I go to my pc and do the same search it will say “Nothing to see here - this feed is completely empty”. the only differences are : on my phone I have the app on...
I would like to know what template would people prefer....
I’m using Firefox on an Android phone to view Lemmy. When I click a post at the second page of posts and go back after reading, it takes me to the first page of posts. Am I doing something wrong?
Although I’ve always believed that Google collects more, it seems that Meta gets maligned more frequently than Google in the eyes of the general public. Since then I’ve been growing curious on the matter. Should Meta deserve less respect on this subject than Google?
Hey people! I just created the hub [email protected] since i didn’t find a Hub for that yet, and feel like i have relevant experiences and want to help the whole plattform grow. Since i never created a sub on reddit or the like before, i am wondering if there are things i can do to help the Hub grow and reach the...
I went to Venezuela back in 2000 and there were all these burger carts that sold these little delicious burgers. I remember them having really thin meat pattys and but loaded with toppings and have been trying to figure out what the toppings were....
Hi! Sorry if this is a common question....
I saw a comment about a week ago that said the displayed number of subscribers/upvotes displayed is the count for people on your instance. Essentially meaning that if an instance displays that it has 15 subscribers it actually only means there’s 15 subscribers from my personal instance (vlemmy.net in my case) and not overall...
I’ve created and account in programming.dev. When I search for a community, sometimes I don’t find in when I search in programming.dev but I find it in lemmy.world
I’ve been listening to this NPR (public radio) show, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, for probably 20 years. It’s a comedy news quiz, and they have listeners call in to participate. I’ve wanted to call in since I was a kid (I’m 31 yo now), but I’ve got some fun anxiety around talking to people if I don’t know what to...
I love catbox.moe it’s really really handy but sometimes I need to share multiple photos at once and I was just wondering if there’s a solution to that…...
" oh sweet summer child " you might be thinking, and yeah. I got no clue....
I can’t seem to find an option to cross-post. Can someone help me out please?
What I mean is, why not just a bi-directional mirror, with several servers in the larger users goes? Can the federation API be leveraged to just do that to address the dramatic load increase? Folks firing up Lemmy servers all over that only have a tiny portion of unique content are likely to provide poor experiences and stress...
There’s a user on lemm.ee who has been making hundreds of communities over the last few days, but it seems like a flag-planting operation more than anything else. It would be impossible for one person to moderate all of these communities, and they have zero post or comment history....
I took a ton of pictures at an event. Unfortunately the autofocus of my cam is a bit wonky and this lead to blurry pictures. Does anyone have an app or way to restore details on the unfocused object? I also have the raw files of these pictures if that helps.
When posting a video url on Lemmy, is there any way to have the post display a picture of the video thumbnail? It would look so much better than gray squares with an outlink arrow in the corner.
