“Waller County does not tolerate domestic violence. Heinous crimes like this one will not go unanswered, we will seek justice for the victims of domestic violence and send a message to the perpetrators that here, we fight for our victims,” Whitmore said in a statement.

What is it with US police departments making statements that imply they barely understand their role in the community? No one gets anything out of this part of the statement except concern that the department thought it needed to be said.

“We may just be the police, but we don’t like domestic violence, and that includes the decapitating kind. We’ve decided to do something about it because someone’s gotta, god damn it. We fight for our victims… No, for victims… No, yeah, our victims—that doesn’t sound right. Anyway, fear not people of Waller Country! And let that be a message!”

Edit: lol it seems everyone else made it to this part of the article and face palmed too. Sounds like a very inept police department.
