Social stigmas around sex and relationships result in a lot of tragedies. I don’t want to assume what happened here, but one can start putting a story together based on the one child they gave away for adoption, and not putting the father’s name on the birth certificate.

That said, I think having access to abortion is a necessity in any society with complex social dynamics. For whatever reason, adoption was not an option for the other four babies that were born. I am not sure why, but one can assume this lady carried out home births and that’s equally tragic and horrific.
