I hope people dont believe you the next time you claim that something deplorable happened to you.
Then you will likely argue that people should start bybassuming you might be telling the truth and look at evidence and investigate the case before determining that you were telling the truth or lying.
Your tendency to think a woman is lying for money when making claims of rape is the problem women face today. And have always faced, for that matter.
We dont shoot first and ask questions later. If she is lying, then it will come out when scrutinised. If she isnt lying then its a damn good thing we didn’t just brush her away isnt it…

Don’t worry guys, the judge offered to be that girl’s mentor. Asked her parents and all, so he sees no problem with this usage of power. You can absolutely trust him to be alone with a child and “teach her right”
That’s the most infuriating part of this story for me. If a judge did that to my child and then offered to mentor them, I’d be redoubling my effort to get them disbarred or worse.

I very much don’t think your average person understands the threat of fascism or what’s on the line, I feel like that belief comes from being in a left leaning echo chamber.
Obviously anecdotal but the vast majority of people I know are not great about consuming news, are not politically active, and don’t believe this election will have the deep consequences that I do.
Your first paragraph doesn’t really make sense as those on the left tend to be the most keenly aware of the dangers of fascism, since
a) First they came for LGBTQ+ people (which was left out of the poem since it was written by a conservative priest who was fine with persecution of THEM) and then they came for us
b) it’s always us that end up having to fight fascists alone since the liberals try to negotiate with them (or stay out of it at first and then join them like they did in Italy with Mussolini) and the others on the far right try to become their allies

I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to say but what I meant is that I agree people on the left are most keenly aware of the dangers of fascism and if you’re surrounded by mostly them (aka in a left leaning echo chamber) then you’ll believe that most people are aware of the threat and take it seriously.
Unfortunately in my experience most people outside of the left (which is most people in this country) don’t share that awareness and therefore do not take the threat as seriously as they should
I think most Walmarts don’t really sell groceries. Last time I lived near one, it didn’t have any produce, which is really the whole point of a grocery store.
Didn’t Kroger just buy another chain, though? That might have been what made them the biggest.
Its getting harder and harder to find a regular walmart anymore here in Texas. They seem to be all Supercenters or Neighborhood Markets (only groceries)
Not yet. They are trying to merge with Albertsons which owns lots of local stores like Jewel Osco and Safeway. But they need the merger to be approved by the FDA before it can go through. Their case is supposed to be heard early next year. Let’s hope it doesn’t go through.
The div1 walmarts without a grocery are mostly phased out I thought? There are only supercenters (general store + grocery) and neighborhood markets (grocery only) in the adjacent states to me.
Walmart has store classifications which govern how they are built according to the demographics of the area they serve, ie: population, average income, etc.
