Ertebolle , in Prosecutors ask judge to issue protective order after Trump post appearing to promise revenge

To clarify, this isn’t actually specifically about today’s threat - the lawyers have been jockeying for a few days about the conditions under which the government will produce discovery, and this order is mostly an attempt to speed up that process rather than let Trump’s people dither and delay. The business today just adds a bit of extra urgency to getting the trial done quickly.

Fingers crossed.

Wouldn’t that be amazing if voided his bond and he was thrown in jail till the trial?

That’s what would happen to pretty much anyone else. But we all know the rules never apply like they should to him.

I have a feeling he’s about to fuck around and find out.

right he's going to try to flaunt absolutely every rule he can.. if he can think of a way to thumb his nose at a law or rule, he's already started the tweet before the thought is finished..

TenderfootGungi , in A judge has ruled Texas' abortion ban is too restrictive for women with pregnancy complications

Which, it is. There are likely already woman that will have trouble conceiving or may not ever have children because doctors were not able to terminate a bad pregnancy.

blackberries33 ,
@blackberries33@sh.itjust.works avatar

I think your priorities are in the wrong place. Some women die if they can’t get an abortion.

ZzyzxRoad ,

You’re right. But I also think their point definitely calls out the utter hypocrisy of all of this being “for the children” though. It’s such transparent bullshit.

Eufalconimorph ,

Not to mention the difficulty being dead causes to conceiving and having children.

Texas' abortion ban is too restrictive for women with pregnancy complications

FTFY

danc4498 ,

I think the judges said it exactly how they meant it unfortunately.

serinus ,

The “unfortunately” is weird. The judge is supposed to interpret law, not decide it. And he’s determined that this law conflicts with inalienable rights in another law for a particular reason.

I understand people think it’s not broad enough, but more specific is more defensible, and more likely to stick.

danc4498 ,

Dude, the entire state of womens reproductive rights in this country is unfortunate.

ComfortablyGlum , in EPA Approved a Fuel Ingredient Even Though It Could Cause Cancer in Virtually Every Person Exposed Over a Lifetime

Is there any actual point to the chemical that chevron wants to add to the fuel mixture, or is it just filler to make the fuel cheaper to produce, thus making more money for chevron?

Having a purpose wouldn’t make this ok, but not having a purpose other than filler would make this even more sleazy!

raltoid ,

It’s fuel made from waste plastic.

So once the process is more refined it would be great, but it’s clearly not ready.

Here’s the thing- if some doctor told Abbott that he could walk again if they used an aborted fetus to harvest the stem cells, he would do it in a heartbeat.

This isn’t about morality because these people have no morals and we can’t forget that.

What was it? I can’t see due to the OBNOXIOUS AMOUNT OF ADS, ROLLING STONE

Chaser ,

“It is disappointing to see that these alleged distractors are able to monetize false allegations against Mr. Cosby,” Andrew Wyatt, a rep for Cosby, tells Rolling Stone. “Even more disturbing, the Merson Law Firm (New York City) decided to incite this lynching of this American Citizen. I am reminded of a photo a man hanging from a tree burning, as the plantation owner hosted a barbecue and party for the slaves as this Black Man was being roasted alive, without the sheer facts of any evidence, proof, truth or facts

sebinspace ,

And I am reminded of the Boondocks episode about R Kelly.

notabird , in Google is charging its employees $99 a night to stay at its on-campus hotel to help "transition to the hybrid workplace."

Isn’t that the dream for a capitalist! Labor that sleeps at work. Google takes it a step further and asks employees to pay for being able to sleep at work.

JohnDClay , (edited )

They just need to implement a full company score!

Edit: Meant company store, but I’ll leave the original

The score is just soulless “lo-fi beats” type of music played all over the grounds to avoid any one person ever having to sit alone with just their thoughts as background noise.

Points go down, you get sent to a shitty cubicle at the far corner of the office. Then a verbal warning, followed by a written warning…
