The $700 is just for immediate critical needs. It is not the entire FEMA payout to fire victims for the disaster. Thus the article is misleading propaganda.
"According to administration, 300 FEMA workers are currently on the ground and the agency has provided approximately 50,000 meals, 75,000 liters of water, 5,000 cots and 10,000 blankets.
To further assist survivors, FEMA has activated a transitional sheltering assistance program to help displaced residents find a hotel or motel, as well as a "critical needs" program to provide $700 to eligible people for food, water and other supplies."
I thought most of Hawaii was already like that, that is why it is a tavel destination. The companies own the best land and they build hotels and resorts to bring in the wealthy.
I heard Oprah was making a big deal about the fires, not because of the people, but due to her owning 3000 arces of land around the area. Briahna Joy Gray, on Rising with The Hill goes into it a bit: youtu.be/Fn2X4V_Lde0?t=299
Similar to how the wealthy have taken over the smaller islands around.

The American experiment in federalism is a failure. You need to abolish states power and become a true unitary government. The alternative is another civil war.
I know it’s useless to try and unbunch the State’s underwear outta their ass about taking away their “States rights” but really from the outside there are plenty of places with Provinces / prefectures / states that still have individual character and bylaw WITHOUT binding their citizens by what is in effect the sovereignty of two separate competing countries.
Folk in the states seem to make it all about how free it makes everyone… But from over here it looks more like some kind of beaurcratic bondage fetish.
Seems like pretty clear-cut manslaughter at the least.
If you reduced the scale to one person on fire and someone standing next to him blocking access to a hose, it’s undeniable that one party knowingly caused the other’s death.
Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Sometimes those people are children. But it’s still not the guns fault, obviously. The same thing would have happened if the nine year old child, who had no ill intentions, had a knife instead. Everyone knows it’s just as easy to accidentally stab someone to death as it is to pull a trigger. Happens every day in the EU, I assure you. So many accidentially fatal stabbings by children over the years.
Why tf do conservatives hate the students of America? There is little room for the US to compete on the world stage if no one (but nepo-babies) can afford to be educated here.
Their districts are less educated so it doesn’t impact them as much
It gets them redhatter votes
You are right, long term policies like this are going to cripple our ability to compete. At a certain point we won’t be able to just depend on a stream of educated immigrants and kids of the super rich.
Edit: you can also read what they claimed in the suit
Adjustment will “extinguish the incentive for nearly a million student-loan borrowers to seek debt forgiveness through PSLF and thus will disadvantage [Plaintiffs] in the market to recruit and retain” borrowers as employees
They won’t be able to get workers if workers have less debt. Don’t even try to hide it sometimes.
Because there’s 2 types of conservatives, the rich and greedy self centered ass hats who don’t need an education. And then the stupid people. They’d be throwing away a part of their base if they allowed them to learn.
The US needs stronger labor laws, if these guys were unionized (and the government wasn’t made to cripple them) they could be paid a living wage in the first place.
The police union is one of the largest, most powerful unions in America, and is a prime example of what happens when a union has too much power, sooo wat?
I’m a strong labor advocate, for everything but police. The police are the ones that are called to assault, coerce, and (historically) kill labor organizers. Those class traitors don’t deserve a union. And they primarily use their unions to keep their worst cops on the job far past any reasonable assessment of them as anything other than evil people.
The cops have the only union that will do everything to ensure they aren’t held accountable for anything. Think about it. Of all the industries that need unionization and the corrupt fascist cops are enjoying it every day.
It’s a bit pointless to argue the length of the punishment because any year added will be added to his corpse. Most legal systems do not stack their punishments as a flat rate like that. The first kid probably gave him most of the jail sentence and the rest added very little.
Also I don’t think normal possession charges in Australia just gives you a fine because it’s not USA. If you look it up it says 2 years for possession but that includes carrying 50g of heroin so carrying a joint will not send you to jail.
"how the children obtained guns"? The article gives no indication that there were multiple guns. Your editorializing makes it sound like they were playing with guns and shooting at each other.
The story is bad enough as it is without you lying about it.
Yeah, I know that’s a typo, but now I want to know what NPC News is like. “Today, several PCs rampages through the streets and caused $10 million in property damage.”
The line you quoted as “editorializing” (“how the children obtained guns”) is literally a line pulled directly from the article subheader. In other words, there’s no editorialization from OP. Like, you do realize that… right? By your replies, I can’t tell if you’re just trolling hard or that oblivious.
If you'd kept up with the thread, you would know you're like the third person to point that out. It is editorializing; I just didn't recognize the correct source.
