PhlubbaDubba , in Bentley CEO says sales are down because the rich are experiencing ‘emotional sensitivity’ due to the cost of living and don’t want to flaunt their wealth with a new luxury car

Just homebrew something if you’re that worried about it, worst case you have a nice new car, best case, you have a legitimate competitor if you can find the capital, which you most likely can because you’re a rich fuckass.

Pretty sure just having a not I-Pad dash alone would get your brand selling like hotcakes.

Brkdncr , in Bentley CEO says sales are down because the rich are experiencing ‘emotional sensitivity’ due to the cost of living and don’t want to flaunt their wealth with a new luxury car

ITT: people trying to explain what it’s like to be extremely wealthy without knowing anything about it.

Bahnd , in Denying Your Medical Care is Big Business in America

For-profit insurance is itself a conflict of interest and unethical. How can one expect an organization with a profit motive behave in the interests of the people they claim to insure (other than dead people dont pay them anymore)?

Im of the opinion that a government should run some form of medical insurance for this exact reason. Private corporations should not be allowed to comodify modern essentials of life and I feel like this should extend health care.

Tebbie , in 8-hour time-restricted eating linked to a 91% higher risk of cardiovascular death

I wonder if it’s something to do with what those 8 hours are filled with, maybe a person is more likely to eat worse meals if they skip a meal unintentionally?

For example, they could be eating McDonald’s every night because they didn’t have the time to eat anything else.

I would assume if you plan your diet properly, it wouldn’t be harmful. Only science can tell us though, not our ponderings.

bradorsomething , in Global fertility rates to plunge in decades ahead, new report says

lol, cmon man, russia invaded crimea 10 years ago, they invaded ukraine 2+ years ago, some segments of the russian popluation (not the rich or well connected or even middle classes mind you) have seen their young, and old fed into the wood chipper that is the ukrainian warfront, and still, after navalny was imprisoned then murdered by the regime in broad daylight, the russian people can't even find it within themselves to stage any real sort of protest against their despot that threatens the entire world

russians are who we thought they were, they do not change, they feel no shared responsibility for the well being of humanity, only themselves

He didn’t say that Russia’s foreign policy was great or that their domestic politics were great. He just said that them being subjected to terrorism was bad.

They’re compatible positions to hold.

A world with more terrorism probably isn’t gonna improve on the issues that we do have with Russia.

lovepeacejoy , in ‘God gave us Trump’: Christian media evangelicals preach a messianic message
kromem ,

‘True’ Christianity was probably something radically different from what survived the filter of initially Jerusalem’s influence and then later Rome’s.

At this point, it’s just a grab bag of “pick your own Christianity” with a high likelihood none of them are 100% a reflection of the original.

afraid_of_zombies ,

I don’t agree. Christianity exists today because of the institutions that Paul built not because of any given Gospel that they had. Institutions always win out over ideas. The “true” Christianity was the church. Even if something Gnostic had worked it’s way into the Bible it isn’t like there would be a major difference in how the religion operates.
