This is random and nitpicky, but can we talk about that ad’s soundtrack?
Maybe things have changed and I’m out of touch, but I thought the thing was to put suspenseful horror movie music over attack ads, you know, like the classic Michael Myers theme. The music they used is like, kind of dark, but it’s more like an action movie, like the way the bass drops at 0:33 is the part of a trailer where they’d so some really cool stunt, and around 0:50 the pace is picking up to where it’s like, trying to hype you up to see the movie. Like, it’s not that far off from the soundtrack in the trailer for Inception, where it’s like, yeah there are some dark aspects to it, but it’s still supposed to be fun and entertaining. I know I’m not the target audience, but this just left me wondering when the Kamala movie dropped, and not like, worried about some sinister plot.
The whole thing feels kinda disjointed tbh. At first the message is, “Biden is senile, Kamala is really running thing, and she’s gonna let the immigrants in, be afraid,” but then by the end the message is, “Haha, Kamala is saying all this incoherent stuff, she’s a joke!” It’s like they got distracted and lost the plot halfway through a one minute ad. I guess they’re just throwing stuff at a wall to see what sticks, but it’s very unfocused and low effort.
The artist who created the “crowning” sculpture, Esther Strauss, also condemned the destruction, according to the Linz diocese statement. “Most portraits of the Virgin Mary were made by men and have therefore often served patriarchal interests,” she said, adding that in her sculpture, “Mary gets her body back”.
I would like to see you make a post about this instead of hijacking this post. But I understand. That would create a lot of visibility for your user account.
Of note: the claim OP made about sexual assault is incorrect. They just felt it was inappropriate and put them in an uncomfortable position. And it doesn’t compare at all to raping kids so I don’t understand why it was brought up
I broadly agree with your assessment that most of these are not sexual assault, even if they are inappropriate.
Tara Reade ultimately did accuse him of forced unwanted digital penetration, which if it had happened, would be absolutely sexual assault. So far this is the only allegation of that nature, but she didn’t go unambiguously public until 2020 (though there’s record of a more contemporary mention of the incident in a call to Larry King live, but the call was vague both in terms of what happened and who it involved).
However, it is still one person’s word versus another, and a singular incident. Also a lot of incidents where Tara was pretty much grifting through people, so she had a credibility problem. In the accusation itself she accuses him of going to zero to 100 faster than she could have said no, but stopping when she did say no. So ultimately by every measure and the most pessimistic interpretation of the allegations, it is still not as bad as Trump’s incidents. She alleges that he “grabbed her by the pussy” which would be a grave incident for bidens history while Trump just casually says that is something to do any old time.
Michael Avenatti, Daniels’ former attorney who is serving prison time for scamming her and multiple other clients, took to X from federal prison on Wednesday to bash her. Since Trump’s New York trial, the disgraced legal eagle has turned sympathizer for the GOP frontrunner as he fishes for a possible pardon.
“Stormy Daniels is not now, nor has she ever been, a ‘victim’ of President Trump. Her new claims, made as part of her GoFundMe grift, are complete bullshit,” Avenatti fumed.
