I think the guy is terrible but threatening to forcibly impregnate is not how I read that tweet. Didn’t he say “okay I will give you a child” or some shit. That doesn’t imply non consent, it sounded to me as an offer, which was gross. Could maybeee be considered harassment, but 1 tweet would be hard to classify as that as well. It would be like trying to make catcalling illegal. It’s gross, but by no means would it ever make a law that wouldn’t be abused.
Thats my issue with politics. Every issue is bait, and everybody plays with the issues.
Meanwhile, the outcomes affect real people.
And not just THIS issue. This is every issue. It’s all just a series of “how can I frame this to benefit me…”
And that’s all politics has ever been. Even back in the slavery days. People praise Lincoln for ending slavery. People like to remember him as being snti-slavery. He wasn’t. He was trying to work both sides, and it happened to benefit him to end slavery.
Just the same today with domens health/abortions, the economy, education, and any other big issue you can think of. If it benefits a politician to take a side, they will. The right thing to do would be to allow Ukraine to use our best weapons, and strike deep within russia. But that doesn’t benefit America to end the war. Instead, it benefits America to drain russia for generations of all military, vehicles, equipment, and ability to recover. It benefits America to send a message to China to not fuck around.
What benefits America and what is the right thing to do are rarely the same.
The fight will never be over. Thats the problem. It’s not meant to ever end. It’s only meant to give us the illusion of choice so we can put power in someones hands.
The fight for freedom will never be over. It’s an enduring goal, not so much a destination, but also how much we are enriched by the journey. Through all that we achieve, we strive for more. And through the achievement, we grow stronger, more.
Haha nice of you to ask. I knew in some areas for sure but to think someone could stumble into success so effectively with actually nothing to contribute is too depressing to accept.
