Unless the ads are being served by the same server as the photos, this is probably trivial to block using a Pi-Hole or other type of network-level ad-blocker.

I do wonder if it’s unable to pull up ads, if it just reverts back to showing photos. Would love to get one secondhand to test it out. Sure as shit never going to pay for one.

njm1314 , in USPS says it wants to save $3 billion a year. Some rural mail delivery could get slower.

No thanks.

The description of that device and subscription is so fucking stupid I’m not even mad. If you fell for it that hard, you deserve whatever they throw at you.

Letstakealook , in Donald Trump abruptly ends interview: "We're in danger"

The clip just seems like he was done talking to the reporter, the reporter had another question (regarding a threat), and he gave an on topic (suprising) smart ass reply to her question in order to end the conversation. I think folks are reading too much into this.

SLVRDRGN , in Trump Calls For Gun Confiscation In Fox News Rant: Cops Should ‘Stop And Frisk And Take Their Gun Away’

TRUMP: First of all, you — I know the people in Chicago. I know the police, because I built the building there. I spent a lot of time — the building, it was a — it’s a great building, a really great building.

How are serious people, seriously voting for this guy again?

FiniteBanjo ,

The other team has taken a stance against racism so now this team had to adopt racism and due to a troubled history of racism in the USA and a majority demographic of 70% white folks, probably even more voter demographics, the Racism has a non-zero chance of winning.

It doesn’t help that we’re just now stepping into a whole new era of algorithmically manipulating the masses with digital psyops.

I’m old enough to remember when Newsweek was credible and respected. I understand the Magazine business model is brutal, but these days you’re more likely to run into someone who’s owned Newsweek than someone who subscribes to it.

xenoclast ,

August 3, 2013.

It’s been a while since any formerly credible news source was free of foreign ownership.

All “news” media in the US has been entertainment and propaganda businesses wearing the logo and skin of dead journalism outlets since then.

Only took a few years to get Trump installed as president. I’d say that’s amazingly effective

Would you fucking figure out how to do proper spoiler tags!?

metaStatic ,

It would be the height of irony if it works fine for me on kbin but on lemmy, where the bot lives, it's messed up somehow.

The issue is almost always whatever app they’re using not processing them correctly.

They work just fine for me on the lemmy.world website directly, and in Summit.

Someone did a fairly deep comparison of a bunch of different apps to compare their formatting support, and it was bad. I can’t find it due to the poor built-in search, and lack of good federated content search by regular search engines. I should have saved it for reference.

fuckwit_mcbumcrumble ,

Works on my machine. Are you not using the normal lemmy web UI or something?
