Heres my argument against hitting kids. Mississippi loves it, cant get enough of it. Every ailment of society is caused by kids not getting hit enough, and they wear their past of childhood violence as their biggest badge of honor. Hitting kids is how you get Mississippians.
Every time I read a quote from this idiot it hurts my brain. I could go on about how stop and frisk is a horrible, racist policy that is a violation of basic rights, but just reading anything he says is painful. His speech is so jarring, erratic, and logically flawed. I’ve listened to average second graders express their thoughts more eloquently than this piece of garbage.
My niece was 2 years old when she said “Uncle, I’m scared of the dark, but juice is in there.”
And she wanted one of those capri-sun juice packs. I told her there’s nothing to be scared of in the garage. She can leave the door open so she can see what she’s doing, but she should get the juice herself.
I expected to have to turn on the light, and maybe even get the juice for her, but I wanted to see how long until she asked for help.
Well, she was still scared, but she walked all the way in, picked up 2 juice packs, and came back inside.
I asked what the 2nd juice pack was for. She said “I got one for you!”
It was the proudest I’d ever been as an uncle. I taught her to face her fears, and in doing so she showed that even when scared she still thinks of others.
Which is more than I can say for trump and his way of thinking. He would have made the story into some self serving story where he battles a monster in the dark, and slayed a dragon, and everybody loves him. Meanwhile what actually happened is he got some underling to bring him the juice because he was too scared.
Whereas my neice faced her fear, overcame it, and thought of others while doing it. THATS real bravery! And more human growth than trump has ever displayed. Plus I actually understood what she was trying to convay. They may have been short sentences, but they were complete sentences. Plus they didn’t drift off halfway into some racist rant. Mostly because she isn’t racist and is raised better than that.

I did that a couple of years ago and got sicker than I got when I actually had COVID. I staggered them by two weeks last year and felt fine. I’m going to do that from now on.

IIRC it’s technically proper to still use that title for former presidents, but very few actually do out of justified distaste for the man himself, along with the fact that it’s definitely not a good idea to say anything that might imply you think he’s still actually the president.
Also isn’t it pretty uncommon for someone to lose reelection for president but be the nominee the next one? Mean most know their official politics days are over at that point so the title isn’t confusing.
I have read it is technically true, but reliable news places won’t call them President because it’s also technically not current. In the US, apparently once someone is president, they forever have the president title.
That douche from the “ change my mind “ meme, I checked out one of his YouTube videos a while back and he called the US President Biden “former vice president Joe Biden” after he was already president. Which is so douchey, it’s kinda funny.
(He deleted all of the YouTube videos since then to force people to watch him on his grifter platform. I’m shocked. At least it’s only shitbags being grifted.)
That’s the normal way to address a former president. They do the same with all the other former presidents as well, this isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

This last weekend, during the — just prior to the start of the convention, with all the police everything else, do you know that so far, five people have been killed? You don’t read about it because the press doesn’t want to report about it. Five people have been killed in Chicago during the Democrat convention.
He can just make up whatever he likes and they don’t challenge him but what’s new.
The problem with this sort of thing is that I remember in the 2016 campaign how Trump would go on record saying Highly Objectionable Thing. You’d have the New York Times and such crow that now they’ve got him, print the statement. Trump wouldn’t miss a beat, would just go and say something in complete conflict with the other thing. He didn’t bother trying to reconcile the statements.
I don’t think that that statement’s going to do him any favors, but Trump has said a lot of things on the campaign trail that, if taken at face value, would probably kill his chances as a serious candidate. That didn’t happen in the past. I’m skeptical that it will now.
Oh it won’t drop his ratings like a rock or anything, but it hopefully will turn a few people off. And he keeps saying things that turn a few people off here and a few people off there…
