I'm normally not one to champion extreme prison sentences, but 5 years really doesn't seem like enough in this case. I remember seeing the video, and it's clear that the kid has some major issues that aren't going to be solved by a few years of prison time. He kept attacking her after it was clear she was already unconscious; whether it's over a video game or not, that is not healthy behavior. Most people know, even in high-stress self defense situations, that once somebody is unconscious, you don't keep attacking them. He had no issue attacking somebody he knew was completely defenseless. That's sociopathic behavior.

It’s difficult to find an explanation for the partisan support of objectively harmful conservative political movements like restricted health care(public/”free” healthcare is cheaper, saves time, is sustainable) unless(Occam) they care much more about themselves than others and they place their comfort and desires above the comfort of others.

Yeah the law is more concerned with abuse of power dynamic so relations between <18 year olds and teachers, doctors or otherwise parental guardians or tutorship or use of money or other “seductions” are illegal.

They should also have to pass a certification exam to use self-checkout. If it’s too hard for you to do it without making the customer assistance light flash, they have cashiers that will do it for you.
Sure but also us older folks over 20 are allowed to buy alcohol and that always flashes the light. And sometimes they have to randomly check a thing you’ve scanned to make sure you aren’t scamming. And sometimes it double scans and, while you can remove the item, they still need to input their ID - they trust you to scan everything, but not to unscan it.
Like, sure, there are people who struggle, but I’m not sure the customer service light flashing is indicative of the issue.
