But Musk has more recently embraced conservative politics, especially the issue of free speech. Musk bought Twitter in 2022, rebranded it to X, and has dismantled many of the checks and balances meant to limit hateful speech and misinformation on the platform.
Why is free speech a conservative cause nowadays? It should not be.
Because what it actually means is the freedom for them to spew their hate speech without consequences. Freedom of their speech, not others’. They hate being “punished” for their hateful ideologies and view it as censorship. Being able to spread their hateful beliefs to large groups is extremely important in propagating it to other people. Conservative created platforms are inherently limited by the fact that their audience is not only quite small but also everyone there already believes their bullshit. They want and need to place their hate in mainstream places where others will see it and hopefully come to believe it
There’s also the bonus effect of reducing both the amount and proportion of non-conservative voices.
It’s not. They want to be able to say slurs, while treating words like “cis” as a slur. Only an idiot would think the conservatives care about free speech, they care about victimizing themzelves, and trying to appear like victims when people point out the horrible stuff they say is actually what they want when they screech about their free speech.
His friend hit it with her car, and he decided he wanted to take the body home and cut it up for meat.
The decision to get out of your car and start fuckin' with the dead bear cub's body, just assuming that it has no family in the area, seems to me like honestly the most serious mistake of the entire bad idea adventure.

Russia could’ve turned the aircraft around and scuttled the deal. The government wanted the news of the exchange to only take place after the prisoners touched US soil and couldn’t be kidnapped back to Russia.
It’s not uncommon on sensitive stories like this for the government to loop-in journalists ahead of time so they can pull together background and research with an agreed-upon embargo until some point in the future.
This wasn’t the US government telling the newspaper they couldn’t report on a story they had uncovered from their own investigation.
