Of course he is part of the Homo genus, its not hard to tell
The most confusing part is that the one who says this as an insult dont know that they are also insulting themselves. Homo habilis is part of the Homo genus too
Well meaning, but sort of intentionally obtuse. You know very well homo is a slur to those people as shorthand for homosexual. What’s the point in pretending that’s not what it obviously means in this context?
Whoa. I don’t live in the US but my wife has had pretty bad long COVID symptoms for nearly two years now, so I hope this passes and we see some good treatments come out of it.

For days, various media outlets had been aware — through their own reporting and as information trickled out elsewhere — that a prisoner swap involving American journalists and dissidents was in the works. But news organizations were asked by the White House to hold their stories until Gershkovich et al. were in U.S. custody. Until then, the prisoners would still be in Russian captivity, and officials feared that any attention brought to the fragile deal could risk compromising it — not just for the U.S., but for the multiple other countries whose prisoners were freed as part of the swap.
We are usually diametrically opposed to taxing spending, but what about a corporate luxury tax on stock buybacks? Buybacks are the latest scheme to inflate executive and top shareholder pay while at the same time making capital unavailable when needed. Claim chapter 11, negotiate debts, lay off employees, rinse and repeat. Moral hazard.

This is a legitimate reason to blackball a media group from ever being informed of a situation in the future. Not just because you don’t like their bias or how they cover things. Because they’re putting a critical situation with a limited timetable at risk, just for a scoop, and the resulting ad revenue.
There’s no reason the swap needs to be disclosed before it happens, but there are legitimate reasons to keep it a secret until then, hence the request to not disclose until after. True investigative journalists can differentiate between these situations. Morally reprehensible bullshit just for that advertising revenue.
That’s ridiculous. Guy gets separation pay in 1996. Goes on disability in 2012. Then in 2023 they’re like, yea, we need that money from 1996 back so you can get disability. Who the fucking hell would ever expect that? That’s on whoever approved it and they should eat the fucking loss.
It’d have been dumb if he was denied disability in 2012 too. Otherwise, who would ever take separation money if it meant they’d never be able to claim disability without paying it back.
Yeah, people should be grateful everything is expensive as fuck and the planet is burning while the c-suites get more money than ever. A real accomplishment this good economy.
How does this “economic growth” benefit me? That’s right, it does not.
