Unfortunately, I think too many people actually want that.

Alexstarfire ,

Everyone in the neighborhood must hate that homeowner.

I’d like to know how they managed to find Death in the first place. He’s a sneaky son of a bitch.

Who would win: every human in the world vs. every animal in the world?

I’m thinking the animals would easily defeat us, since trying to get all 8 billion+ humans to agree on a plan of attack would be a near-impossible task. By the time we’d be done trying to coordinate a plan, I figure the lions and cheetahs would have already devoured us, not to mention the larger animals like the elephants....

Alexstarfire ,

I take it you’ve never watched The Naked Jungle. I actually didn’t know that was the name of the movie until now. Not the best name. Anyway, it’s about millions of ants destroying everything in their path and a cocoa plantation owner trying to save his property from them.

Alexstarfire ,

For real. All the stuff that person complained about is something a manager should be handling. Mine do. It’s very rare for requirements to change for things I’m working on. There’s typically going to be some small changes, e.g. wording of a message or moving things around in the UI, that happen but that’s to be expected and one of the better parts of working in agile. You make something and find it doesn’t work as well as you hoped? Tweak it.

I think the only time things can change drastically is when I’m working on a priority event, AKA something really bad happened for a customer and we’ve got to fix it ASAP. There’s no time to do in depth research beforehand. You just dive in and sometimes you think it’s one thing but it’s really something else or it’s just more involved than you thought.

I can’t think of anything plastic that I’d consider premium, let alone a phone.

EDIT: Wait, Legos.

Alexstarfire ,

What do you expect when your message says “don’t take money?”

Alex Jones agrees to liquidate his assets to pay Sandy Hook families, in move that would end his ownership of Infowars (www.cnn.com)

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday moved to liquidate his personal assets, agreeing to demands from the families of Sandy Hook victims whom he owes more than $1.5 billion in damages over his lies about the 2012 school massacre....

Alexstarfire ,

This wording is far too kind to this shithead. Makes it sound like it was out of the goodness of his heart. He was forced to because he owes like a billion dollars in judgements and has been trying to use his companies and whatever stupid shenanigans he can come up with to try and prevent any sort of payout to his victims.

Alexstarfire ,

Dude doesn’t even know about the magic smoke.

Alexstarfire ,

No thanks Nike. I won’t “just do it.”

Alexstarfire ,

You can’t decrease something by more than 100% without going negative. I’m assuming this doesn’t actually decompress files before you tell it to.

Does this actually decompress in 1/13th the time?

Alexstarfire ,

Pretty sure the judge had his hands tied for the max fine he could dole out to Trump. Still a problem that should be fixed but it’s not cause of the judge.

Alexstarfire ,

We do what?

Alexstarfire ,

Ohh, I actually knew about this already… because it’s not worms but fly larvae. They drop sterilized male larvae to “mate” with females and thus produce no offspring. Only for one specific type of fly though. The video has much more details but that’s the gist of it.

Alexstarfire ,

I don’t think the list of languages is correct.

Alexstarfire ,

Generally, I agree. However, websites run like shit when you don’t have great service, say like inside the store and they have no wifi. App runs a lot smoother.

Why would I do such a thing if I were in the store? Might see if another store nearby has what I’m looking for if they don’t have it. Might be checking to see what aisle something is on because I’ve spent 10 minutes trying to find it on my own and I’m frustrated as hell because I know they have it cause I bough to last time I was there.

Another reason is because the website is less functional than their mobile website. So if I want to browse sales and make a shopping list while on the couch, it’s far easier to use the app than their website. And a lot of places focus more on apps than mobile websites so this is just going to get more common.

Though, truth be told. IDK why I ended up getting their app. I really, really, really hate being forced to get apps to do things. Lots of digital tickets are going to app only now: Ticketmaster, airlines, etc. Last time I went to Arby’s they had a sign in the drive thru saying to go to their website to look at coupons. Which then told me to go to their app to see them. Nope, you can fuck off.

Alexstarfire ,

The thing about “general” is that means there are exceptions. Also, I pretty much never see employees walking around the store.

Alexstarfire ,

Got a 40ish y/o first cousin that’s never had a job. Gonna be very interesting when her parents pass.

Alexstarfire ,

I prefer my penis in one piece, thank you very much.

Alexstarfire ,

Or we could try a system that actually tried to rehabilitate people. Nah, that’s too much work. Best just keep people in jail.

Alexstarfire ,

But we found $230 million to change the look of Five Points. Cause that seems important for some reason.

Alexstarfire ,

Doubly important

Alexstarfire ,

I talk to myself almost constantly, even when not programming. Rubber ducking is second nature to me now. Though, IDK which came first.

Alexstarfire ,

How do you prepare for “world ends in nuclear holocaust?” Seems a bit difficult to account for.

Some stuff lasts for a long time, most of the time. Onions, carrots, potatoes, peppers, celery, etc. Leafy stuff lasts a couple weeks at most but usually less. That said, it’s obviously not in the best condition by the end, but it is still edible.

And frozen/canned goods, rice, beans, and pasta.

Alexstarfire ,

Most groceries last longer than what people think. Might want to take a look at my other comment about this.

Alexstarfire ,

I’ve wondered about this for a long time. But I’ll never know for sure. Don’t know if overall I’m paying more, or a little bit less, with the cashback.

All I know for certain is that, overall, the credit card companies aren’t losing money.

Alexstarfire ,

I really hope there isn’t a more generous system than what the US has. It’s stupid long as-is.

Alexstarfire ,

The choices they made in material for my grill are weird. All the big parts and supports are rust resistant. Every single screw is the cheapest, shittiest one they could find and immediately started rusting. Hope the dollar they saved is worth me never buying grills from them again.

One of the many odd choices they made.

Alexstarfire ,

I haven’t replaced it yet. It’s somehow managed to keep itself together.

Alexstarfire ,

We’re looking for fake answers, not real ones.

Alexstarfire ,

Bowling in general has gotten much more expensive because so many places love booking lanes per hour per person. And they are all very expensive. Makes the $4-$5 per game places of just a decade or so ago look dirt cheap in comparison.

Alexstarfire ,

Will what? I almost never go bowling anymore because it’s gotten so expensive. Didn’t even start with Bowlero, I don’t think. They were just another company that came in and made the affordable places more expensive.

If it weren’t for the bowling league IDK if the place would be all that busy.

Alexstarfire ,

I don’t think that world would exist anymore. WW3 for sure.
