Sometimes I think he was pissed at the jet tracker and being told off so much, he bought twitter to shut ot down. But dont want to make it look intentional so he doesn’t have a major labor lawsuit for putting everyone at twitter out of work.
It’s high time for the US to ditch their white elephant, the SLS, and get serious about space again. The new space race has already begun. The only real prospect for the US is the Starship program but that’s run by a crazy narcissist with dubious loyalties. Time to stop coasting and to take control again.
Way too expensive, to the tune of over a billion per mission. Not innovative and yet they can’t even get their ancient technology to work. Not reusable, like they take old Shuttle engines that have flown multiple times and then just expend them. Such a waste. The whole thing is just a boondoggle that serves no purpose other than letting politicians hand out government pork to their local constituencies.
While it’s expensive, it’s only too expensive if someone else does the same cheaper. In terms of payload mass the only competition is Starship. Starship is still in development and has no successful launches, while SLS has 100% success rate with one launch. So if you want your heavy stuff, or people even, to get into space safely you better hand over the money to NASA.
NASA had several options to develop smaller rockets with orbital refuelling. Which is the way forward according to just about every expert. There was one senator, I forget the name, who explicitly blocked research into that just so he could keep his pork barrels. The whole thing is riddled with cost overruns and piss-poor project management (launch tower, anyone?) This is of course mainly due to political meddling but overall this whole program has been a disaster.

I’ve been in charge of hundreds of WP sites in my life and most are just regular business sites or if they’re e-commerce, they’re using some social share plugin.
So they approve of zucc, whoever tf runs google, jeff bezos and other pieces of shit, but elon is the breaking point for them? That’s a stupid reason if you ask me.
I reckon if the Google CEO came out and called someone rescuing children from a cave a pedophile, was sued for Sexual Misconduct, then bought a stupid platform and started bitching and moaning about everything a lot of people would consider changing their stuff away from google stuff.
Yeah, I didn’t notice the date until after I had posted it, since I hadn’t heard about it and the post on Mastodon I got it from was posting like it was new, so I didn’t check. By then, folks had started commenting so I left it up. Ahh, well.
I have seen the movie, and I am still wondering where it is supposed to promote homosexuality. Neither Barbie nor Ken give any such vibes. Only thing Ken seems to suffer is a permanent case of blue balls, even if he lacks the equipment…
You’re assuming that they’re honest about their reasons, which is not the case.
The main message of the film (besides being a 2h ad for Mattel) is gender equality and female empowerment.
This threatens these people more than homosexuality, but I imagine even for them saying “we don’t want our women to even imagine a world where they’re not subservient to men” would be a tough sell.
Far fewer people are willing to stand up to defend the LGBT community so they’re a convenient scapegoat (‘conservatives’ will always find a group small enough to target in order to push their unpopular policies, it just works).
I used to want a Tesla… Now I don’t. That’s 60% Elon and 40% their poor build quality.
The second percentage should be higher. It’s not, though. Elon is a very hateable person due to his low IQ, and astronomically high level of arrogance.
I honestly couldn’t understand how people had any praise for him in years past. He always came across as (yet another) embarrassing forever teenager, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and little sympathy for or understanding of others.
This is in vast contrast to Bill Gates who (despite my loathing of Microsoft’s business practices, especially in the 90’s and early 00’s) continued to grow and earned some respect with his philanthropic endeavours and just generally acting like an educated adult.
Still, I’d rather have fewer rich jetsetters and more competent Governments and international institutions, effectively working to better mankind.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, although there was certainly doubt, until the “pedo guy” thing. Then I realized he was just a manchild. And, of course, he used his high-priced lawyers to get out of that obvious slander in court.
Well, that’s not actually true for everyone. I’ve been talking about this guy being a douchebag for years. I have a relative that told me three years ago that I was just jealous of his success.
I really want to talk to that guy again now… Maybe the next reunion, haha.
Same for me. Was saving for a Tesla, but now I’ll go with a different brand. For me, it’s 75% Elon and 25% that I’m just starting to prefer what other EV makers are putting on the market.
Oh no, they’re very safe. You just might not be able to open your trunk or roll down windows for eight months until the dealership 200 miles away can attempt to look at the problem, fix the trunk, and somehow break the passenger door in the process.
