“The combination of upbeat economic data and the U.S. government credit rating downgrade caused mortgage rates to rise this week,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s chief economist. “Despite higher rates and lower purchase demand, home prices have increased due to very low unsold inventory.”
I saw him pop up recently in another thread. I don’t ever think someone holds all the answers to the world problems or someone or something is wholly responsible (maybe besides greed) but I think it’s important to be exposed to other narratives and views to make a better sense of the world.
I don’t claim that his narrative is correct but it’s interesting to think about the concepts he presents
Obvious third variable might be conscientiousness. People low on that personality trait may be generally more likely to pick their noses and catch COVID.
The researchers said as the nose was a main route for coronavirus to get into the body, nose-picking may make infection easier by directly introducing virus particles on the hands into the nose.
Idk what their county budget looks like, but if they would set up a shop where interested parties could easily buy prints of that mug shot, I would cheerfully bet my favorite nipple that they will be running a surplus for a very long time.
I think they’d pull in even more if the DA were signing them, but I don’t see any reason to not offer a variety of signature options. They might even sell some to Republicans if they do a Trump-signed version.
Not to make light of the situation but the person needs some masonary classes. Someone with enough determination could probabbly take out a column or two with their shoulder the way they’re stacked.
Seriously. It’s incredibly lucky for this woman that this guy can’t build for shit. Even if the blocks were built properly, you could probably just kick out that door.
Edit: or even just push that “ceiling” aside and climb over
Yea that’s another problem it should be illegal. Things that impair your judgement in an objectively negative and harmful way to you and others should be illegal
I’ve heard that statement nearly verbatim from people who were entirely serious - and judging from my upvote count (and the original comment downvotes), several others thought you were serious as well.
Edit - Wait, I thought you were the creator of the original comment - you aren’t. There’s still a very good chance this isn’t sarcasm.
There are a lot more than 59 missing children at any time. There are hundreds of millions of people in the US, a few will go missing all the time.
most missing children are with their other parent who is hiding from court ordered custody, and thus don't even know they are missing. However kidnapping (often for sex) does happen once in a while, it takes time for the FBI to track these down and in the mean time those doing it have time to kidnap a 58 more kids.
there is nothing unique about the US here. all countries have similar problems, as criminals are everywhere and it takes time for law enforcement to track down any particular criminal.
Children are easy to carry and often easily accessible. Sadly, it is often as simple as driving close to one in a car, then pulling them inside.
Actually, that can work for adults as well, according to some vids and news stories I’ve seen. Many crimes are incredibly easy. Just like the death toll and environmental/monetary/health cost of cars, it’s just not mainstream knowledge.
And that doesn’t include all the other causes. Runaways are missing, and often intentionally trying to stay missing. Parents taking children and leaving the country without telling anyone can make them all be "missing". Bureaucratic issues can mean that a simple move leaves children "missing" in one official register or another. Some people or families are simply not "in the system", living off-the-grid.
