So what’s the best one then? Communism/ socialism didn’t do very hot either. Unless there’s been some obscure, ancient economic system that I’m not aware of, there hasn’t been a non-theoretical economic system that’s been better than capitalism yet, as flawed as it is.
I get there’s abundant evidence of the issues of the current system and the degenerate strategies it allows, but “capitalism bad haha” is getting stale.
Most of the reason socialism didn’t do well is because the United States overthrew socialist countries that elected socialism and replaced them with capitalist dictators.
I mean socialism has and dose worked for millions of people. Imho The two main points of failure are imperialistic states like USSR and USA the second thing is authoritarian systems trying to force socialism (often it is just State-capitalism) on to the working class.
I should look into it. Truth be told, there’s no pure capitalism or socialism. It’s really a bunch of economic sliders different countries balance more towards one side or the other throughout history. What I meant to say is A) systems that lean enough towards capitalism are the more successful even if they’re far from perfect and B) The way people throw around the “capitalism bad” idea just like that doesn’t help in any way and I’m tired of it. It’s a mix of raw frustration and copypasting of ideas without any real substance.
There’s a lot of things you obviously aren’t aware of. Socialism is very successful across the board. The thing is, you are conflating leninists, or state communism with all communism and socialism. Which is wrong. But expected of someone educated especially in the United States and possibly other Western countries.
It might even surprise you to learn that a large swath of communist and socialists are often anti-state. There are communes all over the world that have been running successfully for a long time. You don’t hear much about them simply because there isn’t much to radicalize people against them with. If anything you hear people ridiculing them but little else.
The true irony of it is that you’re guilty of everything you accuse. Could you give an any concrete evidence etc. Maybe you would have earned some in return. Either way have a good day.

My first exposure to Takeshi’s Castle was when I was in the US military and stationed in England in the early 2000s. I worked night shift and our shop has this old TV that only picked up a few stations. One of which was a German station that showed nothing but Takeshi’s Castle and 900 number commercials. So, we spent our nights watching a insane Japanese game show subtitled in German with a bunch of commercials with topless women.
I’ll provide the fun fact since I’m a wrestling fan: This character’s name is Brother Love. He was the first manager of The Undertaker. He brought him into the WWF. As Brother Love. Naturally the juxtaposition was hilarious. Didn’t seem to hurt Undertaker’s career too much.
Anyone who could be a better president than the people who actually run for president would never run for president because they know how awful of a job it really is.
Being president is hard because anything you do can have huge repercussions. Say the wrong sentence and you can fuck up the relationship with a whole country. Wish the job was given to 40 something people instead of people with the cognitive power of a toddler.
Trump dying now would be terrible for the country. If we’re ever going to heal as a nation, the MAGA cult has to see this guy behind bars, and see the rest of the Republican leadership at long last disown him.
I’m concerned if he’s jailed, the nutbags will revolt and we’ll have a civil war. If he dies of natural causes, there’s a slim chance of avoiding that. The next challenge will be who the greater wack job is going to be looking to replace Trump
After watching Jan 6th, I don’t think a civil war is on the horizon. Most people are too soft and comfortable. Hell, there was one lady that stormed the capitol, got maced, and then complained about it to a reporter. When she was asked why she stormed the capitol she said, “It’s a revolution, man!”
Also, you can’t really divide the country up geographically by left or right (more people in California voted for Trump than in almost every other state, for example). So, no, I’m not worried about a civil war.
That being said, I don’t see the far-right disappearing anytime soon. There are powerful people that benefit too much by having our society divided, and it’s not just in the US where this is happening.
It won’t be a civil war. I think we’ll see a significant increase in acts of domestic terrorism against perceived Liberals in government (assassination attempts), Liberal communities, and Liberal businesses, and Liberal media outlets. I think it will sadly become our “new normal”. Oh, and if and when Trump dies of natural causes, his followers won’t accept it and they’ll instead believe he was killed by his political opponents. They’ll never believe in a million years that he died naturally.
