Having worked for a state government which maintained data for federal submissions in 15 different versions of the same giant excel file on 15 different computers, it’s scary how accurate this is.
I’ve worked at private companies where this is the case too lol.
This is true even when better software would work instead of the one-size-fits-all-but-isn’t-suitable Excel.
Often to get it to work the way I want is through VBA scripting. And at that point I should be using other software but companies are cheap and don’t want to invest in better tech.
I’m so terminally awkward about all this. Cuz I want to be sure that the person I’m about to ask for help isn’t like on break or waiting for their shift to start or something and “Excuse me, are you on the clock?” Sounds super condescending to me. So I just awkwardly default to “Do you work here?” or “Do you know someone who can help me?” because English is basically impossible for my dumbass self.
I feel like this is fair to just ask if they know someone who can help. It gives the person an out in case they are on break or don’t work there. I know I’ve been asked for help in places where I’m just another customer.

I just don’t get how this can be true. Don’t people have different sizes mouths? How can if fit going in but not coming out? Am I just falling for a stupid joke? Either way I kinda want to try this now.
I don’t know if this is true, but it seems plausible that the bulb could have asymmetric strength depending on the angle force is applied. Glass does weird things! Case in point: Prince Rupert’s drops.
I’m sure the percentage of Brits that only speak English is lower than the most of the former colonies just because of the proximity to mainland Europe. But I’d be shocked to find out it was the same rate as second languages in non English speaking countries
