Halfway through the installation it throws me back to the login screen. When I try to continue the update/upgrade it does it again....
Hi,...
Hello,...
Distributions like RHEL and Debian freeze packages, you will have to use old package when the newer is available. I think these distributions is just for highly mission-critical system, they have to run software smoothly, no breakage. Most personal computer don’t need that stability....
In KDE 5, the Activities settings had an option for overriding (among other things) what actions closing the laptop lid did, so temporarily disabling the lid switch was as simple as switching Activities....
In addition to lots and lots of Plasma 6 stability work and the beginning of Plasma 6.1 feature work, Dolphin received large amount of development this week, resulting in some nice improvements. Check it out!
Finally back on a gnome distro that supports GRUB2, and loving it so far. The exception being that every time something moves, there is a weird line in the middle of my monitor that almost “splits” the screen in half, like it’s off by a pixel or something. this isn’t really present in static images though. it’s pretty...
Any progress on this, or is the 14 year old github repo I’ve been seeing the best thing?
Getting the KDE Mega Relase 6 out was a key milestone in the transition to Qt 6 and KDE Frameworks 6, but it doesn’t mean we are done yet. There’s still components to port and scaffolding to remove.
For a few months now, Pipewire has been acting in weird ways. Before I upgraded to Plasma 6, after a screen blank (not suspend) no media can be played. For example, YouTube player is in the loading state for a long time, eventually playing without sound, VLC doesn’t start for a few minutes....
This might be a real stupid question but why is discover updating to a lower version? Is there any place I can read up why this is the case?...
Creating custom resolutions is quite tedious. Surely I can’t be the first person to desire a tool which just does it for me....
I’m proud to share a development status update of XPipe, a shell connection hub and remote file manager that allows you to access your entire server infrastructure from your local machine. It works on top of your installed command-line programs and does not require any setup on your remote systems. So if you normally use CLI...
Nice series of blog posts I found detailing how to use bubblewrap (the sandboxing tool used by Flatpak) to sandbox regular programs.
The project has nothing directly to do with Linux. But I think it’s interesting and you should be able to use the mouse under Linux. In my opinion, it is therefore an alternative to normal mice.
I moved to KDE for better gaming support, but I really dislike the condensed look of everything in the settings app, discover, and most of all in Dolphin....
The openSUSE Tumbleweed rolling release Linux distribution has begun rolling out the KDE Plasma 6.0.1, Gear 24.02 apps, and Frameworks 6.0 packages. Plasma 5 is being replaced within the Tumbleweed repository but openSUSE Tumbleweed isn’t yet transitioning to the Wayland session by default.
I removed my permissions on my downloads folder using chmod....
I haven’t yet learned how to replicate the bug, it keeps happening at seemingly random intervals. Right now it happened after walking away from my pc for a while, and when I got back it happened....
I’m thinking of installing Linux (think I’m going to use Nobara) on my new budget gaming PC, and my biggest worry is video games compatibility. I have most of my games on Steam and Epic. Some on GOG, and some on Itch. I know a bit about steam compatibility, but not much about the rest. Is this something I need to worry...
So, pretty much the title. Anyone here using JWM Window Manager with Arch (or any other Rolling Release Distro) now? What was the experience like?
