recently I bought a Chromebook, I love it so much, it has Linux container enabled and I downloaded Firefox, GIMP, and Krita, but my Chromebook is only 64GB, so that can be a lot!!! So what web apps or low storage alternatives can I use?? I know Photopea, but what about drawing? Thank you!!
I have installed Bitwarden through its AppImage, and added a .desktop file to run it easily (and also to use a themed icon). Unfortunately, each time an update comes out, I need to manually update the file since it points directly to the older version...
Thinking of trying to morph my Leap workstation into Tumbleweed (and potentially Slowroll once that project matures enough). I’ve seen that you can do it . I reckon I can rollback relatively easily via the BTRFS snapshots if it goes sideways, but just curious to see what others’ experience with doing so has been.
Long story short, I learned there is an XMMS release of a plugin I use in Winamp for music playback (mp3PRO). Sadly, I recoded most of my music to mp3PRO back in the day, and now I’m stuck using Winamp, even on Linux. I like the player, wouldn’t change it, but I wanted to switch to something native, like Audacious or Qmms....
I don’t play or promote videogames, I honestly just want to focus on developing open source software!! And I know that Tux and other mascots have their own open source games, but do you think the developers of mainline Linux play videogames??
The Canonical-developed Netplan has served for Linux network configuration on Ubuntu Server and Cloud versions for years. With the recent Ubuntu 23.10 release, Netplan is now being used by default on the desktop. Canonical is committing to fully leveraging Netplan for network configuration with the upcoming Ubuntu 24.04 LTS...
I’m using virtual box to try it out. I went with Linux linux mint cinnamon and it’s running great. Any program suggestions to try out or any general advice?
I’m using Windows and only asking here because Google says it’s a Linux thing, but my question is what is a Bluez and why was it trying to connect to my computer at 5AM this morning?
Last month I upgraded my computer with new parts. I kept my old DVD drive that I mainly use to rip CDs. I have now however run into an issue that has stumped me. When I tried to rip some used CDs I bought the resulting FLACs had a terrible crackle, making them unlistenable. So I started looking into the issue and tried different...
This repository is holding a working docker-compose setup for documentation pourpuses because syncstorage-rs’s documentation is not very good to explain how to self host the new rust syncserver....
This might be a really stupid noob question, but I am looking to move to Linux from Windows/Mac, and am about to install an SSD into my very old test machine for Linux distros....
Linux is interesting to me, but I’ve never dipped my toes into it because it seems really intimidating (and a lot of loud people act pretty snobbish about it towards non-Linux users, making it seem even more intimidating to get into; I’d rather not be bullied for my choices in software or my ignorance in others)....
