My Objective:...
The Linux Mint team has just released Linux Mint 22, a new major version of the free Linux distribution. With Windows 10’s end of support coming up quickly next year, at least some users may consider making the switch to Linux....
Just got it in my updates now. First things I've noticed, some new icons and some great new Wilma wallpapers and a new "Xviewer" app that seems to be colour managed! Cinnamon version now on 6.2.7
Sorry to be a bother, but I’m hitting a wall here, and my google-fu is not strong enough apparently. I’m trying to reinstall a Home Assistant VM on my server, (It’s been a while, and I have no idea how I did it originally). Running: virt-install --name haos --description “Home Assistant OS” --os-variant=generic...

[The author assumes] a high-level understanding of how text rendering works, for example, what shaping is. If that does not sound familiar to you, you might want to review State of Text Rendering (2009), and Modern text rendering with Linux: Overview (2019).
This is my second “I feel like a complete idiot” question of the week, so thank you for your patience....
I’m using Debian 12 from a fresh install (with Wayland). The mouse I’m using is an Azeron Cyro keypad. Azeron does not offer configuration software for Linux, but the device has onboard memory and can be configured via Windows or windows emulator. Importantly, what I’m trying to achieve here is not possible on Windows...
Hello! I use Bazzite Linux with KDE, and I’m having some issues with duplex printing on my system....
Does anyone here use LXD/Incus? What do you do if you want to find the IP address of an instance, but incus list does not give you one? I am not sure what would be stopping one from being issued since that is how I have found that information before....
This is a follow up thread as I saw some posts regarding games being used on Linux such as ports from Loki....
Hello guys,...
I have 2 Linux pcs, wondering if I can have my time shifts backed up to 1 hard drive or if I need to have seperate drives for each PC....
I’m running a few Debian stable systems that are up to date on patches....
I was going through my old stuff and found an Xbox 360 controller and the wireless PC receiver that was once a requirement before the bluetooth-enabled controllers. I remember using it when I was a Windows user but I’m completely stuck on how to use it under Manjaro. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
I just want to share my notes for installing a Brother HL-L5210DW(T) printer via USB under Fedora Atomic 40 (Kinoite), in case it helps anyone else. This may work for other similar models too. I’ve included some background info at bottom if you’re interested....
So a week ago I wiped my SSD and tried Kinoite and Bazzite. I switched mostly for a fresh Wayland experience with Plasma and also so that I don’t spend too much time tinkering to solve some minor issues ( well it didn’t go as expected)....
Hi, I’m having issues with the file picker on my arch system. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all. If I press “Upload file” in a browser, nothing happens, no window pops up. It doesn’t work in other apps either when that happens. It sometimes starts working after a restart. Does anyone have any ideas? Let me know if you...
how do I start looking for the package I need?...
