I have been having such a difficult time getting a 2018 Dell Latitude 7930 to run any Linux distro stably. Maybe there is something obvious I am missing or maybe it really is dying hardware that’s the root cause of the issue....
I am looking for programs to put animated wallpapers on Linux, the ones I know for now are: Xwinwrap, paperview and komorebi. If you know of another program that can do this, leave it in the comments so that others can read it and give their opinion about the program.
So I got a stream deck recently and installed boatswain. It works fine except it cannot access any apps which actually show in the application menu. It is only available as a flatpak so that could be it
EDIT: I enabled CONFIG_MSDOS_PARTITION and that caused it to work. It had nothing to do with the device itself but the partition type on the sd card....

Edit: copying the font to /usr/local/share/fonts/ fixed it. (I downloaded Debian Xfce a while ago because of how much I dislike Snap, so I’ll soon replace Xubuntu with it.)...
Title. Something that is minimal, has a daemon and a very KISS config file. Bonus points if it also has a “generic” setup (works for all pcs but its not optimal? So I could run this on my sbc.)...
Does anybody know why dbus exists? I’ve been wracking my brain trying to come up with a usecase for dbus that isn’t already covered by Unix sockets....

I’m just curious about the use cases as I’m exploring network attached storage and to a lesser extent self hosting. I see a lot of places where public...
Additional paths will be inserted into the search path used for executables on systems which have a compatible CPU. Those additional paths will mirror the AMD64 / x86_64 “microarchitecture levels” supported by the glibc-hwcaps mechanism: x86-64-v2, x86-64-v3, x86_64-v4. Systemd will be modified to insert the additional...

If anyone could help me out with this, I’d greatly appreciate it. Basically, I can’t ctrl + v to paste anything I pipe into the clipboard selection in xclip, and i can’t xclip -o anything I copied with ctrl-c or ctrl-shift-c....
I recently created a HD for dual boot Win 11 and Pop Os. I created a shared partition for Data, and separate partitions for the respective OS. I used gParted to create the partitions. It looks like Win then added bitlocker to this data partition....
