Is it really sparkling water if it has 100 calories?

Ubermeisters ,

Must be the sea salt cheese flavoring

Watertok moment.

Player2 ,

Think you looked at the kJ value, the label seems to say about 26 Calories (kcal)

Green_Bay_Guy ,

I live in Asia, and normally, “salted cheese” is a bad translation for lightly salted cream. Also, (in Vietnamese anyway) water is assigned to any liquid. I’m assuming this is a lightly salted cream soda

dolle , (edited )

But there’s a picture of cheese next to the text!

Edit: it also says “cheese aroma” (“ostarom”) in Swedish.

Anarki_ ,

Text on labels is Finnish though. The plot thickens.

dolle ,

Text is in both languages. This is common because the countries share a long border.

lapingvino ,

Also because Swedish is one of the two official languages of Finland, about 20% of the country and most of them in Helsinki.

The Finland-Taiwan border is one of the longest undefended borders in the world

Oh wait … Ursprungsland Taiwan is Swedish? That would be also valid German, but it’s the only text there that would.

Green_Bay_Guy ,

They also do that here. Like a wedge of swiss cheese. I have no idea why. They call heavy cream topping on drinks “Cheese Foam”. https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/d83b7c58-20fd-4657-90b0-eacb97fe264a.png

I was in a Filipino grocery once and they had “corn and cheese ice cream.” I don’t mean they had corn ice cream and cheese ice cream, which would be weird enough, I mean it was corn and cheese flavor. And they showed a huge dollop of melted cheese being poured onto the corn on the box. If it wasn’t a gallon box, I would have bought it just out of curiosity.

EhList ,

Corn ice cream is great, queso ice cream not so much.

FlyingSquid ,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

I could see corn. It’s sweet. But mixed with cheese?

EhList ,
@EhList@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah im less inclined to think they would be better together but who knows?

Did you at least get some ensaymada or tsampurado with dilis?

FlyingSquid ,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

I have no idea what that means, so no. I was there for work reasons (shooting a scene for a TV show).

NathanielThomas ,

The language on the can appears to be Finnish or something but the word ursprungsland is German meaning country of origin.

PepperTwist ,

It’s mostly in Finnish, but ”ursprungsland” is also the Swedish word for country of origin. Finland is a bilingual country (mostly).
