There's a (great) game called Disco Elysium, in which you play a semi-amnesiac recovering alcoholic detective who is only partially attached to reality. The character pictured there is your partner, who constantly questions why you do things that may be mundane, like browsing fantasy novels in the bookstore, but are in no way helpful to the murder you're supposed to be solving.
Speaking of fricken weird. I use one of the posts to make a template to use up some of the weird otters I had set aside. It’s lame if the format is all the same, but it’s quicker.
I spend too much time online, scrolling past this like ah, yes, some casual freak shit, perfectly normal reading material for an evening. Wonder who ZeroTwo is? Probably a pokemon he wants to fuck, but I’ll enjoy the mystery. No need to google this one. Garcon, another post, pls.
I wonder how all that’s going. I don’t care enough to check, but last I heard all the ugly monkey pictures were worth zero and the entire market had finally imploded, but these things do limp on and on, trying to turn your driver’s license into some horrible new kind of shackle.
The only winners of the debacle were the two women who managed to turn the memes about them into fuck you money, and they were never seen on the blockchain again. Sometimes I wish I was actually good at capitalism, you really don’t need a job if you are, money just kinda falls from the sky for you. Sigh.
It’s a “grab money from naive people scheme” that allows transforming strong advertisement into money. If you have an initial supply of cash or are a big influencer in the public space, you can get money from a lot of people.
Turns out, after a while, the amount of idiots that are willing to give you their money dwindle, so the whole “market” kinda dies. Give it a bit of time and it will start pumping again.
