Please indulge a few shower thoughts I had:...
This is going to be a short and sweet little history of Reddit. Reddit was founded in 2005....
Similar to Mastodon’s spikes last year, it seems. Anyways, there is data to think about. Source
Hey there everyone! I have a possibly noobish question about the number of active users....
This is a very long gif (almost 2 minutes) open mp4...
Usually, when you open a website, that site might be pulling live data from somewhere, but it’s from a database on the same server. If you click a Fediverse link, and no-one else from your instance has already done so, it seems like your instance has to contact a remote site, pull the data and render it, in the same timeframe...
I have looked and I see people make their own instance of lemmy...

Welp, I guess there’s next year.
I'm looking for an app which allows me to open a post and then just swipe to the left to see the next post down. So far I've tried Jerboa, Connect, and Sync and all seem to want to perform actions on whatever comment you happen to swipe on rather than move the entire post/thread.
I tagged a lemmy.world community in one of my pixelfed posts and nothing happened.
This new version introduced a system so that your instance stops sending out content to other instances that are supposedly dead / offline....

Not sure if this is the right place, or if it’s been done before but:...
