Randelung , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

So noone is going to mention the recent Most Upsetting Guessing Game In The World episode?

I am disappoint.

BreadOven , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

Eggnog. Then freeze the whites (I assume you can…?).

thefartographer , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

Chilaquiles:

Eggs, salsa or picante sauce, tortilla chips, Mexican blend or other preferred cheese, butter or oil, tortillas if you’re feeling sassy.

Heat your cooking surface to medium high, slap on the butter or oil, smash them eggs in and get to scrambling. When the eggs first start to congeal, crush some tortilla chips and toss them in like confetti. Scramble until nearly done and then smother that shit in salsa. Scramble briefly some more and then cut off the heat. Add the cheese as you please and cover just long enough for the cheese to melt—I usually just put the plate I’m gonna use over the pan.

From start to cleanup, if this recipe takes you longer than 10-15 minutes, you’re getting too fancy.

palarith , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

Cake! I would make some pound cake. Then freeze in slices for storage.

Easily microwave a slice when you eat it

berryjam OP ,

Yummy idea 👌

Internet food, it’s delicious in internet.

aturtlesdream , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

I love making huge batches of breakfast wraps (scrambled eggs, veggies, cheese in a tortilla) and freezing them in ziplocks for when I am hungry and too lazy to cook

You should make some eggs with that

andrewth09 ,

24 egg omelette

berryjam OP ,

Yup yup

Boil them, then pickle them to keep them fresh.

Ragnarok314159 , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

Make some Pavlova. Kids discovered it after watching Bluey. Stuff is amazing if you make it correctly, it’s like a giant fluffy marshmallow with whipped crème and fruit on top.

CrayonRosary , in I have 2 dozen eggs to use up

Marinated soft boiled eggs for ramen.

berryjam OP ,

Ooh, I’ve seen a recipe for these but they have a really short shelf life. Might make them over the weekend

CrayonRosary ,

They are sooooo good. Even in cheap ramen.

thrawn21 , in [Recipe] Leftover eggs and rice.
@thrawn21@lemmy.world avatar

Yum, love a good fried rice! I think that recipes which use up leftovers while making you not feel like you’re eating the same thing for the Nth meal in a row are essential tools in a home cook’s arsenal.

Gigan , in baked tilapia and potatoes
@Gigan@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve never prepared tilapia, but it’s an interesting choice to leave the head on

scytale ,

A lot of Asian dishes with fish leave the head on.

original2 OP ,

And British… Have you heard of stargazy pie?

xmunk ,

Ditto for Spanish cuisine.

It’s actually really annoying to trim before cooking.

xmunk ,

It’s usually how you’ll buy the whole fish - some people may eat the cheeks or other bits but it’s fine to just grab the body meat.

It’s much, much easier to debone after cooking.

A_Very_Big_Fan ,

It’s a bit disconcerting but I’d be lying if I said the rest doesn’t look p good

original2 OP ,

You are, in fact, a very big fan

MigratingtoLemmy ,

You can usually eat the brain if cooked well

Dozzi92 ,
@Dozzi92@lemmy.world avatar

What if cooked rare?

original2 OP ,

Rare cooked fish isn’t a good idea ever

just_another_person , in baked tilapia and potatoes

White Fish is an automatic dill, citrus, or parsley situation. Dress it up a bit more.

original2 OP ,

I shoved some lemon and dill inside it

just_another_person ,

Don’t “shove things”. Dress it.

MigratingtoLemmy , in baked tilapia and potatoes

Baking instructions for the fish? Can I try this with other fish?

original2 OP ,

I just followed the first Google result for heat and timing. I scored the top, put half a sliced lemon inside with dill and brushed on chilli powder mixed with oil, cinnamon and ginger and some other stuff

MigratingtoLemmy ,

Thank you. That looks like about 420F baked for maybe 10-15 minutes each side? I want to know how you got that beautiful colour on it, perhaps the ingredients had a part to play in that
