Oh man, if solid apps like this can tighten the experience with the polish of their old Reddit clients, this shit is gonna be lit

Bless your heart web apps, but this is needed so badly. Can you imagine the power of this now that the backend is entirely owned by the public?!

_waffle_ ,

Agreed. Anything to make the process of migrating from Reddit to other places better, I’m all for

I’m using wefwef which looks a bit like Apollo. It’s browser based but you can install it on your home screen as a browser app.

wefwef.app/settings/install

SuperSpecialNickname ,

Is it made recently? It often throws errors how it can’t load content.

TheFrirish ,
@TheFrirish@lemmy.world avatar

it was made recently but I haven’t had any errors as of now.

SuperSpecialNickname ,

Maybe I’ll have to install it from a different browser

TheFrirish ,
@TheFrirish@lemmy.world avatar

I’m using it on Mull which is a fork of Firefox with uBlock Origin activated and so far no issues. so it should probably work even better on a chromium based browser. I might try later just to see the stability.

SuperSpecialNickname , (edited )

It got updated and I thought that was that, but after some time of browsing it just refuses to work sometimes.

Very looking forward to this. I've been using kbin as a PWA on mobile and it's alright, but I'm excited to see the quality of life improvements that will come along with Sync as a client.

UESPA_Sputnik , in Asus Zenfone 10 review: The best small smartphone gets even better
@UESPA_Sputnik@lemmy.world avatar

Asus has always been big on letting you customize your smartphone, to the point that there are two modes for most changes: “Stock Android” or “Asus Optimized.” These two modes can be chosen from your settings, and when setting up your device, you can choose one or the other. It changes how your notifications look, your volume panel, and your power menu

Tim Schofield shows that in his video at 5:13, and from 7:03 onwards. The Asus Optimized looks more feature-rich but the design is clearly pre-Android-12 and clashes with some of the modern Android design elements. I guess it’s especially for those people who want the old notification drawer design back. 🤷‍♂️
