Had to tell our DevOps guy this. Nobody at my company knows how to keep their build tools let alone their OS up to date. WhY WoNt IT CoMPilE?? Maybe because you’re using a 9 year old maven version, buddy.
I’m also not the biggest fan of the whole required reservations thing either. It makes spontaneous movie nights with friends a massive hassle. You have to have a designated ticket buyer now, or somehow perfectly coordinate your online buying times to ensure you get seats together.
I mean it’s objectively way better. Before seat reservations that would happen anyway for popular movies. My group had to be split up many times because we’d walk into an almost full theater.
I tried to rate limit myself, but I never hit it. I don’t think the is so much a policy as an engineering fuckup (maybe some combo of losing the Google cloud compute and the limiting of viewing without being logged in)
i have been using saidit becasue i said something edgy and got shadowbanned on one of my reddit accounts a while back. sadly saidit never grew to be as big as lemmy. but it’s still good to see decentralized platform rise again. someone mentioned aaron schwarz in a recent discussion on reddit perhaps under a post concerning reddit’s recent policy changes and baclashes, and i am glad to see aaron’s decentralization idea realizing here on lemmy.
“Read” means they are displayed in your browser. I used to have Twitter open and hit reload once in a while during work, I definitely loaded more than 300 Tweets per day, especially when clicking on an interesting one once in a while loading all the replies automatically.
Ahha, as I suspected. Of course, despite having stats for each and every tweet in database, they wouldn’t even care to check if some particular tweet was loaded for the user. That’s not an issue though, Twitter is just a walled garbage.
