It’s so stupid, but so funny!

Honestly I’ve heard more about spez and Reddit on the fediverse than I ever did on Reddit itself. The best way for us to move on is to actually move on.

Corkyskog ,

I don’t care about it as long as it’s not driving traffic. I like keeping up with Reddits slow descent into madness, and I like that I don’t have to give Reddit traffic to do so. I doubt I am alone in that sentiment given the amount of upvotes and posts related to such topics.

lohrun ,
@lohrun@fediverse.boo avatar

Oh trust me, I understand there is something about watching their descent into madness. I wouldn’t be subscribed here if I didn’t want to see it. I was more pointing out that it’s like when people would Facebook stalk their ex. Like sure you aren’t interacting with them directly in any way but the only way to fully move on is to drop the morbid curiosity. (Again, I’m also subscribed here watching the dumpster fire)

Never heard of this before, but just watched a YouTube video and it looks awesome! I’ll give it a try on emulator later!

FinalBoy1975 OP ,

I’m using the Fusion emulator, if that helps. The Sega Genesis is long dead. RIP.

GrappleHat ,
@GrappleHat@lemmy.ml avatar

OK, I’ll get the fuaion emulator. Whyat do you mean by the Genesis being long dead? Is this game not good on Genesis?

FinalBoy1975 OP ,

No, I meant that my Sega Genesis is long dead. It died years ago, as in it stopped working. But it lasted a long time. It finally bit the dust in 2012 or so. This game is great! I played it nonstop when I was 20. A couple of nights ago for some reason the game popped in my head and I felt like playing it. Today I’ve played it at home and when I’ve been out of the house on my phone.

Ya’ll a bunch of techy people, how has nobody here just botted this yet?

Master ,
@Master@lemmy.world avatar

That is literally what happens every year with r/place. Hundreds of thousands of bots placing pixels based on pregenerated images. Then the bots fight each other. Then reddit uses their own bots to censor things or mod tools to drop a bunch of random pixels over the top of images to wipe them out.

dont use grammarly spyware. i would recommend useragent switcher

0Xero0 OP ,
@0Xero0@lemmy.world avatar

it’s spyware? do you know of anything similar I should switch to?

Nioxic ,

Its basically a keylogger that checks EVERYTHING you type

Why do you think its company is valued so high?

They know everything you type. Even if you dont send it.

(Im not aware of an alternative. But if there is one its probably working the same way?)

darcy ,
@darcy@sh.itjust.works avatar

i hate to say this, but manually checking your writing is unfortunately the best option. unless it is running locally and open source, it is by definition a key-logger, no matter who operates it. if u need to use it, i would suggest only using it for important and non-sensitive content, and disabling it the rest of the time

0Xero0 OP ,
@0Xero0@lemmy.world avatar

I found LanguageTool and it seems to be open-source, is it safe?

darcy ,
@darcy@sh.itjust.works avatar

it really depends on your threat model and convenience/privacy tradeoff. i personally wouldnt use it, but i doubt its that bad, although i would suggest to use the webpage only, not the browser extension. at the end of the days theres obviously bigger things to worry about, but every part counts

0Xero0 OP ,
@0Xero0@lemmy.world avatar

it seems I can run it locally, but the information in the guide is beyond my knowledge
