It always fascinates me how much games on a given system can improve without getting better hardware. I’ve played a decent amount of 2600 games and its hard to believe those California Games screenshots. Comparing to other games likes Yars Revenge, Adventure, or River Raid it looks much more true to life. Well as true to life as a system that can’t do circles can get!
Meth is a product that was found, and then developed and improved in order to be better at what it does. The expertise demonstrated in the creation of Meth shouldn’t be compared to Facebook, which is just the first product to come out of a market. Facebook hasn’t developed further as a social media platform, it has developed further as a money making device.
You could say Alcohol is the Facebook of drugs. Drugs have developed over a very long time unlike social media, so the history is much greater for this case, but the point is that alcohol, despite not being the best in all categories, is the most popular drug simply because it’s not as harmful as others (such as meth) and has been around for longer than the new, less risky alternatives (such as weed). I’m not considering coffee as a drug for this metaphor. Alcohol is making the most money not because it is good, but because the rest is mostly illegal, and/or less ingrained in social norms and traditions.
Point is, I kind of lost myself along the way and started rambling, comparing Facebook to Meth is not fair because Meth is not socially accepted while Facebook is, maybe compare Reddit to Meth, idk
I am just reminded of that old pic that someone was taped to celling with their equipment and everything right now, they were playing some counter strike i think.
I use Manjaro ARM on my Orange PI because I couldn’t get Arch ARM to work on it, while Manjaro has support of my devices out of the box. Since I installed a minimal possible version (without any DE), it doesn’t feel bloated or something. It feels like I’m using Arch but with slower updates. Overall, it’s good and I don’t notice much difference from Arch. But anyway, I haven’t tried it for a desktop station.
I use Ubuntu. I think it’s funny how Arch users immediately assume they know more about Linux than me because of my distro choice. My hobby is learning about Linux and I can do that perfectly from my Ubuntu machine.
I’ve used Arch in the past, and let me tell you, nothing crazy is going on in there.
Yes, Ubuntu sucks because they are forcing Snaps on people while snaps are slow as hell. Thankfully they haven’t fully shoved snaps down our throats. If they don’t make snaps faster before shoving them down my throat, I’ll just distro hop. Probably to Debian. I love Debian.
Arch user here. I have no idea what I’m doing. Killing Floor just crashed my graphics card or something to crash and my monitors aren’t working after reboots. Oh god
Space X is a legitimately good company. You can hate Elon all you want, Space X does some awesome shit. Rockets that land and are reusable, plus the advantage of completely getting rid of the US’s reliance on Russia.
