Reddit didn’t keep their deadline for the API implementation. I’ve still got Boost installed and it’s still working, nsfw posts however went away yesterday. You can still get nsfw if you use revanced apparently but I’m just checking reddit now out of curiosity.
Perhaps it’s not completely implemented everywhere. You can go to r/BoostforReddit if you want to read more about it. Idk and honestly idc either, the whole thing is kind of a shitshow. When Boost stops working without patching I’m out of the reddit ecosystem for good.
I just bought a Samsung G9 Neo (5120x1440), and Ubuntu just worked resolution-wise. Had to switch the monitor to 120hz instead of 240 because otherwise Ubuntu would only allow 60. For the rest all is well. GTX1660Ti. I’m actively looking to upgrade that card now though, with an RTX4060Ti being the prime candidate. I wondered whether i should choose AMD instead, but the doubt was too much. 😅
So after getting a an AI analysis of all your comments, them selling your data. You only worry about upvotes?
That's a small difference. This example takes a small difference and blows it up to the extreme.
Well yeah. First of all that's another data point that marketing and AI companies can utilise.
Secondly on Reddit only admins could see how you voted and it was communicated that that is the case. In a federated network anyone who is or can pose as an instance can get that data. The Problem is that people assume Lemmy and kBin are more or less just like Reddit and are not considering everyone can get their voting record they assumed was not public. Better not have liked that kinky adult content or that politically controversial post.
I bought some fingers for the first time in years. They had two options so I went for the larger “family pack”. The box is slightly bigger but the amount of fingers is certainly less than or equal to what the normal size was when I last bought some, and even back then it was a quarter empty so always felt cheated. If I bought the normal size I’d be even more fuming.
Negative. Zuckerberg is an actual human, not a quasi sentient conglomerate composed of experimental AI platforms developed by the US Air Force to explore alien worlds via the Stargate program.
Moved to Fediverse to get away from the data hoarding and selling that those types of companies partake in. Really hope most instances will defederate from threads and prevent Meta from collecting more data.
The only thing they can collect (as long as you aren’t on their services) are the things that are available for the entire world to see. So your comments, usernames etc. are already visible and they won’t get any of your personal data as that’s not known except to your instances admins.
They will collect or probably are already collecting. Even if everyone defederate from Threads, they can and will open a secret instance and get all the data without anyone knowing it
