I don’t have this problem.

Although I don’t have any direct experience with any of this, I deny your lived experience of not having that problem - I think you’re a lying liar and that thing you like is bad.

I liked it a lot too. Here

Honestly the XBLA (Xbox live arcade) kicked off a lot of indie games, that was short lived though it differently has the best chance on PC

Quetzalcutlass ,

The best thing to come out of Microsoft’s push into the indie space was XNA, which even now stands as one of the best game development frameworks of all time. It’s a shame they murdered it in its crib.

(I know Monogame/FNA exist, but I’ll always wonder where the project could have gone with Microsoft-level funding)

    meme /miːm/ noun

1 an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations.

2 an element of a culture or system of behaviour passed from one individual to another by imitation or other non-genetic means.

    Yuuuuup

cali_ash , to funny in unusable mouse

Have been using that mouse for almost a decade and this literally never has been an issue.

If you really somehow manage to drain the battery to zero you can just plug it in for 5 minutes and it will work for the rest of the day. Fully charged it lasts for months.

Complaining about the design it is a purley manufactured issue by people that never used one.

    Honytawk ,

So because of a dumb design decision that they could have easily avoided if they designed a good product, you lose 5 minutes of your time waiting on your peripheral to charge.

You could just have bought a decent mouse and never had that issue, with no drawbacks in any other way, shape or form.

    cali_ash ,

Good thing there is plenty of other mice available for people that can’t handle a simple charging routine.

    greater_potater ,

You mean literally every single other wireless mouse that you can buy.

I’ve also used this mouse for many years, and it is infuriating when it dies and I have to stop what I’m doing and just… wait.

No other mouse requires that I adhere to a “charging routine.” With other mice, I can just leave my desk. I don’t have to make sure I plug my mouse in before I leave work, otherwise risking getting out of the habit and then having my work interrupted by a hilarious (I know it’s hilarious because my coworkers laugh at me when it happens) design flaw.

I fixed the problem though. I had a wired mouse tucked away that I could use for a day rather than do the 2 minute charging shuffle when my magic mouse died.

    lengau ,

Ironically, the only time in my adult life when not being able to use the mouse on my computer for 5 minutes would’ve been a major disruption to me was when I had a Mac.

    SkyNTP ,

Even if we put the charging issue aside for a minute (it’s still stupid) the mouse flipped upside down (and the mere fact that you are constantly reminded of it) looks objectively much worse than if there were a charging port visible on the upper side.

Quik , (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in Relationship advice?

I’d like to actually discuss the problems I perceive with Yudkowsky‘s take for a moment, before everyone can go on with telling each other how crap his opinion is.

First, quantifying emotional states is hard, if not impossible at the moment. This could easily lead to misconceptions and misunderstandings, as it is not clear what x% “better” means.

Second, people probably don’t always want to live in constant fear of getting dumped by their partners. I mean, I get it, if you are in a relationship where you would leave your partner for someone else it’s definitely not a bad idea to be clear about that, but I don’t think that is the norm at all in relationships “even” apart from marriage. So his tweet about marriages being an agreement to ignore other options is not wrong itself, but he seems to lack the understanding that many relationships outside of marriage include this social contract as well.

Especially in a monogamous relationship, this view does not seem to make sense to me as it’s just a possibly emotionally hurtful way to tell your partner about your fear of commitment.

    Honytawk ,

My problem with it is that the percentage changes day by day

    iknowitwheniseeit ,

Pick the minimum amount that you have felt.

Presumably your partner is not going to say, “You said that you would leave for a new person if they were 35% better, and Alex is clearly 70% better than me for you!” If for some reason at that time you felt your amount was 75% better so you stayed.

cosmicrookie , to funny in unusable mouse

Okay, what do social dynamics and personal hygiene have to do with console players and triple-A games?

    The_Vampire ,

Yeah, the title of this post, the meme’s upper text, and the rest are all at odds and I’m just confused as to what OP is going for.

Is the point that consoles are the AAA industry and services normal people with normal needs? How does this mean we should boycott it?

Are we being tongue-in-cheek? Are we not supposed to boycott the AAA industry?

Why does this meme single out ‘console peasants’ as normal people? Is normal bad? Is irregular bad? Is PC bad? But PC gamers also care about gameplay and are regular people? How much sarcasm is supposed to be here?

    OP, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
