No offense but this is kind of what happens in real life too. Nazi shows up to local bar. Barman or owner doesn’t throw them out. Eventually they invite their friends. It winds up being known a Nazi bar. People who don’t want to associate with Nazis no longer visit the bar. This is why intolerance of the intolerant is a thing.
Yeah, but the difference is that the nazis wouldn’t be right or even honest, unlike the ones who oppose bigotry and genocide. You can’t tolerate intolerance to death.
Urf, one of the candidates for mayor of the region where I live said that if they won they’d make an industrial park to encourage jobs … a third of the municipality is a nature reserve, half of it is a literal mountain, and the remainder is small farms. There are no roads big enough for a full size lorry, and there’s a large industrial estate in the valley below which provides lots of jobs.
It just made me wonder if they were that corrupt or simply on drugs.
As someone who is home schooled I can tell you that pubic school is one of the best places you can send a kid to if you don’t want them coming out gay. Bullying and constant peer pressure can do a lot to destroy a kids mental health from a young age, destroy there sense of self, and prevent them from ever having a lasting relationship. If you decide to home school a kid beware that they will want nothing to do with you and grow to hate society (more then before). Your kid will start isolating themself from you (even more) and not even see you as human. Lesson is, your kid is fucked no matter what and capitalism is to blame!!! Also don’t make a big deal out of it if they turn out to be gay. They want to live there life without conservatives doing everything they can to take there freedom then hear the conservatives call themselves “defenders of freedom” two seconds later.
Nobody with even half a functioning brain cell thinks Zelenskyy is responsible for this war or is in the wrong. This is entirely Putin’s little pipe dream to rebuild the Soviet Union by violently invading and trying to subjugate other countries.
Put yourself into his shoes for a moment. If you were the leader of a country you’re proud of, swore to protect and lead, who is responsible for everyone within it, would you just sit there idly when a neighbouring country comes along and invades, murdering your citizens and trying to erase your country through genocide? Would you just roll over and try to appease them when they have no intention of negotiating? Zelenskyy made the choice to fight back, because it is the right thing to do.
Zelenskyy is fighting for his country’s right to exist. He is fighting to stop his own people, including children, from being raped, murdered, sent to work camps, or forcibly integrated into Russia. He is fighting to stop his country’s culture from being erased. If you think that’s wrong, then something must be very, very wrong with you instead.
Because you aren’t open to conversation. You just want to quip that you have secret knowledge and everyone else is an idiot, and smugly feel superior as you read Russian propaganda.
So the solution is to just kick people we disagree with off all the mainstream platforms and ensure they go to their own echo chambers where they are isolated from any reasonable counters to their ideology, which will just ultimately make the problem worse? Brilliant.
It’s like the war on drugs. If we just ban it then surely the problem will disappear…except it just gets worse.
They’re already isolated in their own echo chambers. Have you ever actually tried arguing with these people? You might as well argue with a religious person about how their faith is bullshit. They don’t listen they just scream and throw a tantrum while insulting you the whole time.
I have argued with them a lot in person and online. Yeah, most of the time it is futile. Every now and then it’s not. You ever hear of that black guy who makes friends with KKK members? Sometimes they give up their bullshit and they become friends. I will accept the risk of having futile arguments with many if there is a chance that logic and reason breaks through to a few.
Cheers. Not everyone has the constitution to engage, and that’s fine. I do not think hate should be tolerated, but I think it must be confronted with reason. The only alternatives seem to be more isolation, extremism, and violence.
