Any native plant communities?
I tried subbing to the one on Lemmy.world, but nobody’s home. Perhaps there is one someone can rec from another instance? Any help is appreciated!

This is honestly probably for the best. It’s a really bad idea that we’ve let reddit monopolize niche knowledge
I’m in a couple good PTs and noticed I can get better content there then on public trackers usually, been PT only for almost half a year....
I’d be really keen to host a lemmy instance but just wondering with GDPR and everything, if there is anything else to consider outside of the technical setup and provisioning of hardware?...
What great local multiplayer games are on sale right now? Online is fine, but nothing is better than cracking open some cold ones and getting in front of the big screen together. Here are some of my favorites....
I’ve made a spreadsheet with a bunch of phone options. Mostly Samsung, Pixel, but there’s a couple Motorola and One Plus. I’m most comfortable with Samsung Galaxy but I’m open to changing. I looked up the main considerations and it seems like Megapixels is pretty much the biggest factor but I want something that can zoom...

I'm not sure Reddit is very popular here but I'm wondering!
My partner and I are doing a year of trying new activities, none of our friends are organised enough to come as a big group so I thought we could go as a 2. I’m just a bit worried it’ll be full of try hard people/won’t be suitable for first timers and we won’t have fun. Does anyone have any experience?
Hey guys. I own a fairly successful business that I built from the ground up, but I still find money is super tight. I have a child on the way, and I want to be able to provide for my family everything I didn’t have growing up. What career or side job would you recommend I do or learn in my spare time? I’m open to any...
Can’t believe I ignored this series for years. The first game has aged a bit since it was released in 2011, and the sequel in 2019 has held up and is loads of fun....
Reddit had cemented their resolve to pull a Digg. I really hope the migration goes as swiftly as it did all those years ago. Let the platform die and destroy the IPO. Fuck Spez....
Okay, so hear me out…...
This might be a stupid question but given (my brief understanding of) how the fediverse works, would a fediverse version of a messaging app work? As a potential WhatsApp or Telegram replacement? Or is there one already?
I’ve calmed down a bit but still would like to know if there are any new ‘cool’ apps to selfhost. I know of the awesome-selfhosted github repo. Any other great sources, and could we incorporate something like that into our selfhosted community here? Maybe a bot that checks if any new ones been added?
I just connected to my home Wi-Fi and got the notification, “Google play has switched off your Wi-Fi.” It hasn’t done this before, but after a while it connected again with no complaints....
I now have access to a 3D printer and a bit of time. I’d like to skip this dance of smart doorbells kinda working , kinda not with home assistant. Any DIY doorbell projects out there the community can recommend?
I’ve been a huge fan of the movies since they first came out but didn’t read the books until the beginning of this year. I just wasn’t a reader until recently. I’ve been yearning for some more fantasy but haven’t been able to find anything similar. I tried The Silmarillion but it reads too much like a textbook to me....
I saw another post asking how to set up Soulseek and, at first glance, it looks like those old P2P file sharing platforms, like eMule, Kazaa or Limewire....
In a way this is also a test...
Title pretty much self-explanatory!...
