Are communities with the same name, but different instances linked at all? e.g., Does /c/[email protected] and /c/[email protected] have any relation?
I understand that a user on any instance can subscribe to any community in the fediverse, but I have been a bit confused when searching for communities to join. Sometimes there are communities on different instances, with the exact same name....

If Lemmy and Mastodon continues to get popular, we will eventually get Instance wars.
If the descentralization of social networks continue, we will have to prepare for the eventual rise of the instances wars, where people will start to fight about which instance is better and which one is weird to be in and so on, but that’s for the future of us all.

Any love for the N64?
I don’t see many posts here about the N64 and it doesn’t look like there is an N64 community on lemmy.world It’s the console I have the most nostalgia for and I have over 130 games in my collection. Questions about getting parts from eBay sellers
The people at retropocket.store have great products and it seems that i’ve stumbled on their ebay store. They are selling a GB Pocket Main boards that are either refurbished or completely rebuilt for a very reasonable cost. Does anyone on here have any experience with their work to recommend them as a parts supplier?
What are your favorite retro PC games?
For me, it was the game Rocket Jockey released by Sega Soft in '96. It was perfect. The game featured a surf rock soundtrack by Dick Dale. The entire premise of the game was to ride around on rockets and using long cables to yank your opponents off theirs. Referees were also fair play. I don’t think I’ve met anyone else who...

What’s your white whale?
due to the curvature of the Earth a really long building can't have walls that are both parallel and level.
Aparently, I’ve conflated Level with Plumb, the walls cannot be parallel and plumb. Due to the curve, the center of gravity for the walls would require them to angle in slightly together or not be plumb.
