Yes, a little late in the day but I’ve watched a lot this month and will work back through the list.

After nuking my old install, I am in need of a hostname. Top comment chooses it.
I HAVE FIXED IT...
I’m curious about rehabilitation. I believe crime comes from access to resources and/or from a lack of emotional education (such as empathy, patience, and sympathy)....
I got immich with SSO up and running. It runs like a dream compared to Photoprism and is simple enough for me, but also has necessary features like user accounts....
[update, solved] It was apparmor, which was lying about being inactive. Ubuntu’s default profile denies bind write access to its config directory. Needed to add /etc/bind/dnskeys/** rw, reload apparmor, and it’s all good....
I’ve been watching Isaac Arthur episodes. In one he proposes that O’Neil cylinders would be potential havens for micro cultures. I tend to think of colony structures more like something created by a central authority....
I don’t care about the math and statistics. I went looking for visual comparisons, where image exposure is adjusted to show how a sunny day on both planets really compares, but I didn’t find anything....
To whom it may yoho:...
I wouldn’t really call myself a distro hopper, but in the last few months I’ve had to do some fresh installs on a couple of machines and VMs for work...

I’ve got a NAS built in a Node 304 mini itx case that works great, but uses a ton of power. In Unraid (the OS for my NAS) there is some kind of issue with the Ryzen 3900x processor that I’m running that means I have to disable all sleep states - so it’s always at it’s 100W TDP. Power is super expensive where I live so...

Here is the story: I decided to buy a good and expensive controller for my PC for the first time, after 3 decades of using stock dualshocks and cheap knock-off brands. Googled “best controller for PC”, found a lot about elite series 2 controllers. Got excited about it (primarily the back-grip buttons and adjustable stick...
This shit ass site proposes a paying plan for downloading student notes and I’m so fucking tired at the idea that they basically got a monopoly on it. How can I download the docs?
I’m planning to set up LUKS on an SSD. Many guides are suggesting using a simple key to set things up and then revoke it when everything is in place....
I am wrong in thinking the circumference or the diameter of a circle has to be rational?
I’ve been trying Linux Mint on my old dell laptop with an nvidia GPU and it’s been just one impossible issue after the other....
Hello! I’m trying to sign up to itatorrent.xyz but after typing username, mail and password, I get a “capcha error”. Do any of you managed to sign up?
In recent developments, Apple has unveiled its ambitious plans to integrate generative AI technology into its iconic iPhones, marking a significant leap forward in the realm of artificial intelligence. I have my own Lemmy instance (Lemmy.emphisia.nl) but I had to take it offline, after running a while it was using more than half of the system memory (16gb in total). Causing the computer to crash as there are a lot of other services also running on it. The problem appears to come from postgress. In btop I can see it spawning a...
