I’ve been looking across the internet, up, down, front, and back. No clue....
I’ve been streaming games from my big boy PC to the deck for a few weeks now. Everything so far had streamed pretty well, but streaming Ratchet and Clank, it just runs like ass? It runs perfectly fine on the PC when not streaming. I stream Miles Morales and it plays great, so I’m not sure what it is and looking to see if...
My last foray into Torrenting was when TWC was taken over by Spectrum and I was using uTorrent like crazy. We had Spectrum ONE week and I got a DMCA letter. This is the type of thing I’m trying to avoid....
I understand the big picture for how mastodon works, but I am constantly running into edge cases where I don’t know what to expect. Has anyone made a decision tree diagram (or flow chart) to show how Mastodon decides whether to show me someone’s post, and where to show it?...
So basically 24 hours after posting, there is almost no contributions coming in, and after another 24h, it’s nearly impossible to see anybody chipping in to the subject in question. Everything goes silent, almost as if it didn’t matter anymore.
I followed this guide to set up a Matrix server on my Pi. The only hiccup I ran into during setup was under “Setting up Synapse server,” step 11, the “Registration” section wasn’t present in homeserver.yaml. This server is meant to just run bridges to WhatsApp/Facebook/etc. so I wasn’t too worried, and forged ahead....
The majority of Linux distributions out there seem to be over-engineering their method of distribution. They are not giving us a new distribution of Linux. They are giving us an existing distribution of Linux, but with a different distribution of non-system software (like a different desktop environment or configuration of it)...
I would like to pirate on my phone sometimes and the ads on websites are problem. I’m not newbie, I know I can install firefox and get the uBlock on it but firefox android is a little bit slow so I prefer to use Opera browser; opera has an ad blocker but it’s a joke compared to uBlock. I’m in a restricted country and my...
I was reading this guide on how to run a snowflake proxy, and I’m considering doing it....
Are there portable wind turbines and/or solar panels I can put up in my very bright dusty back yard?

I’ve recently contacted Reddit support in order to prepare my ten year old account for deletion. Although all official sources say, that they don’t offer refunds for Premium, I tried to get at least a part of the 50$ (yearly membership; last renewal in Feb 2023) back. To my surprise, they’ve actually refunded me the full...
I’m trying to access my Pi-hole container from pihole.mydomain.com without any ports or /admin, and I swear the multitude of posts on the internet make this seem really straightforward. Perhaps it is and I’m being dumb, but I cannot get it to work....
In person or online for anything tech related such as hardware, software, development, gaming, etc....

Looking to setup a syslog service for my home lab, more to better troubleshoot issues with random hardline disconnects from the switches. I was told that syslog stack would be the best thing especially for long term use. My question is, that the best option or would y’all suggestion something else? I have been looking at...
Is there any tools or magnet out there that attempt to circumvent the DRM for this?...
I’m interested in running a service like homarr. This would give my family access to view stuff easily, and I could link to the rest of my services. My main concern is linking jellyseerr, and giving what could be strangers access to make requests....
All code on the blendermarket is GPL. Yet, it sold over 25 million dollars worth of software. No DRM on the assets, all free software. Free as in freedom, not as in beer. In spite of that, I have not seen once anyone in the blender community complain about piracy, let alone have I seen anyone distribute any software or assets...
It really grinds my gears when there’s an c/asklemmy question and the top most responses are single word answers....
