How do you use Tailscale?
I’ve read a lot of recommendations for tailscale and am on my way to try it out myself. Do you use Tailscale in the “normal” way or do you host your own Headscale server (as I’m planning to do)? Any pros and cons?
Do folks managing servers mainly do so via command-line interfaces?
Or is that more of a stereotype, and there are some (maybe more?) out there using some form of graphical interfaces/web dashboards/etc.?...

any theory recs on international monetary theory?
I’ve recently gotten a small obsession with the idea of a single African currency or a single BRICS currency forming as a fuck you to NATO and the west. As a result i’ve spent far to much time this week reading wikipedia articles on the history of currency in colonial and post colonial Africa....

Anybody know what's up with cutefish os?
I remember I had a live iso on my flash drive and was always interested in cutefish. But it seems like the distro went under? I think I saw that folks are focusing on developing it into a DE? I truly don’t know, but I’m curious to hear if you guys may know something. Thanks

Algebra in school is like a compiler with shitty type inference: you rarely have to write type annotations and you can easily end up with impossible states.

Hi everyone...
In the age of AI-spam, I now treat typos in webpages as a good sign
I used to think typos meant that the author (and/or editor) hadn’t checked what they wrote, so the article was likely poor quality and less trustworthy. Now I’m reassured that it’s a human behind it and not a glorified word-prediction algorithm.

Unraid on Power Edge T420
I’ve scored two Dell PowerEdge T420 servers at a steal on Facebook Marketplace. I’m gearing up to install Unraid on one of them, and could use any insights available. Will Unraid play nice with iDRAC? Also, I’ve seen theres talk about flashing the RAID controller - any firsthand experiences or risks I should be aware of...
Why not adopting instead of "making own kid"?
I can’t even afford taking care of myself but if I have kid, I would adopt instead of “making my own kid”. Why not this is not popular? These kids already came to this shithole (world) and we’re just ignoring them....

Looking for application to do very simple 2D animation
I spend a lot of time creating system diagrams for presentations. I always use Inkscape to draw these diagrams. However I ran into a scenario where I wanted to animate them. The animations I’m looking for are dead simple. I want to be able to fade in, fade out, and slide basic shapes. The way I worked around it this time was...
