That’s one of the things I’ve been most excited about so far - it sorta feels like I’m back on an old ~2005 forum again, it’s weirdly nostalgic and nice!
It’ll definitely happen, but it remains to be seen whether people will actually stay. For all we know, this latest Twitter thing could be resolved this week and people will come crawling back because they’ve built up a network/following there. Something like that is really hard to destroy, and even then I think it’s far more likely that a commercial product with a large budget and fancy apps takes in most of the users.
I also feel like the Twitter brand is still too well known to die forever. Even if it goes away for a while, someone else will buy it and bring it back.
There will probably eventually be some commercial Lemmy sites. I honestly think it would be awesome if large game studios, and software companies, and anyone else who has need for a forum, made their own federated Lemmy instances as their official support forums.
I’m a big believer in straight-up cheating when a single-player game ceases to be fun but you still want to see where it goes. Good on you for throwing yourself at the wall, but I’m not certain you’re saying it was very much fun, or worth it.
If it was, hey congrats! But if it wasn’t, there’s no shame in just turning on god mode when a game’s difficulty exceeds what you’re interested in grinding. It’s a single-player game and you don’t need to let other people define how you finish it.
(I personally toggled godmode maybe halfway into the path of pain and again when going for the “true” ending)
I have a 5ii and had a Z5 in the past. I’ll probably buy a 5v in the near future. Sony has a unique mix of hardware features (headphone jack, removable storage, front facing speakers, capacitive fingerprint scanner, no holepunch) and a near-stock implementation of android that only LG rivaled. I love their industrial design and form factor.
That doesn’t sound normal. I’m using a phone with much slower processors than yours and Google Maps doesn’t slow the phone down when navigating.
One thing to check is if your phone is overheating during navigating? Putting the phone near the windshield where it’s getting roasted by the sun while running demanding application such as Google Maps navigation might cause your phone’s temperature to spike beyond normal operating range, which cause it to throttle the CPU in order to reduce heat. If your phone is hot, try to put it in front of an AC vent or shaded area in your car.
Seriously! I absolutely loved it. It was so nice just getting to explore and puzzle things out. A good balance of that plus a few intense moments. Just an awesome experience!
