Store your toothbrush rolled in a piece of sanitary paper. It’s so much cleaner than having it laying around, where dust gets on it.

nutsack ,

i brush my teeth with poop

Bashnagdul ,

If you use it twice a day at least, it usually won’t get dusty…

gandalf_der_12te ,
@gandalf_der_12te@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

yeah but like if it’s stored right next to the sink, and somebody washes their hands, the water particles containing the thing that is washed off (be it poop particles or greasy substances) go everywhere, from experience. including on your toothbrush, right?

Anybody got more info on the actual payload?

powershell.exe -eC [payload_w_base64] is mentioned here.

-eC just means encoded command afaik.

oh how lucky is your boy to have such an amazing person by his side and being so loved. Like all of us he also has a limited time on earth but you made his time here the best. You are taking the best care possible and this is a blessing. Lucky for animals they have an option humans don’t have, the option of not having to suffer, and you are the one giving him this gift.

I’m really sorry for you, your boy is beautiful!

Dicska , (edited ) to asklemmy in What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?

Buying another box, bag, etc. of soap, toilet paper, tooth paste and whatever long lasting product before it runs out. It doesn’t expire (fast), therefore I always have a second, full bag as a buffer, and as soon as I have to open the second one, I put it on the shopping list so there is always a buffer bag and I don’t get annoyed if I still forget to buy one or it’s out of stock.

It’s been years since I had to use some weird substitute for toilet paper.

It’s the old prepper adage: two is one, one is none.

Interesting, I know this one with beer.

Can’t get my partner to do this. They are too worried about “saving money/we don’t need it (now)”. For heavens sake, I’m not saying buy a spare house; just pick up an extra tube of toothpaste!

Andromxda , to nostupidquestions in How come Israel don't use Mossad to take out all of the Hamas leadership similar to what they did after Munich? Would this not be better than bombing stuff into oblivion?
@Andromxda@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

The goal is not to destroy Hamas. This is a ridiculous excuse. Their true objective is to remove all the Palestinians from their homes, so they can occupy the land. Israel is a fascist, imperialist actor that tries to manipulate everyone through propaganda distributed through international media.

yesman , to nostupidquestions in Every show with a suicide now has a disclaimer with a suicide hotline at the beginning. Is there any evidence that these warnings make a positive difference?

The national suicide prevention hotline is almost always too busy and callers often need to wait on hold. They’ve calibrated everything from the hold music, the script, and the recorded voice to keep callers on the line.

This factoid splits people pretty evenly between those who find it horrifying and those who find it hilarious.

I should say that according to the hotline, the changes made to the hold system has resulted in 100,000 fewer hang-ups per year.

DrabPoultry , to nostupidquestions in Can a COVID test show your level of infectiousness?

A home test won’t. A PCR gives you some idea if you can get them to tell you the CT (cycle threshold) value of your test. The CT value corresponds to how many times the temperature cycled before the amplification signal of the sample became detectable. Lower CT values correspond to higher viral loads.

HobbitFoot , to nostupidquestions in When and why did democrats begin supporting fracking?

Pennsylvania is a swing state and likes fracking politically. As Republicans support fracking, this could be the one issue that convinces some Pennsylvania voters to vote Republican over Democrat.

SnotFlickerman , (edited ) to nostupidquestions in How do I Graphene OS?
@SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

First off? Do you have a current Pixel phone?

Because GrapheneOS is only available for Pixels, and current ones at that. I’m still on a Pixel 4a, and GrapheneOS considers my phone end-of-life and support for it will eventually stop. So unless you just got a brand new Pixel… kind of a waste.

Secondly, since you’re less tech savvy, you’ll probably want to use the official installation via WebUSB but as a point of warning, Firefox purposefully chooses not to use WebUSB or WebSerial because of security risks.

Google built WebUSB and WebSerial because Chromebooks are a useless fucking joke of a computer without them, since it doesn’t have a real OS, and just a glorified web browser. This is fuckstupid, pathetic, and absolutely a security risk.

That being said, the WebUSB install is definitely going to be the “easier” path for you, but you’ll be forced to use Chrome to do it.

Are there any known issues with it like slowness or not being able to use the camera, etc?

No idea, I always went LineageOS because it supports more devices, has better support for Google services, and isn’t quite as obsessive about privacy. Unlike GrapheneOS, updates for devices will come as long as maintainers are able to make new versions of Android run on older hardware. With LineageOS, I’m looking at likely years of security updates for my Pixel 4a.

Andromxda , to linux in Which distro?
@Andromxda@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Arch is pretty good, but it’s fairly easy to break it, if you don’t know what you’re doing. For gamers I recommend Bazzite. It’s an image-based fork of Fedora Atomic (Universal Blue). You can also try other ublue-based distros such as Aurora or Bluefin. Or Fedora Atomic flavors like Silverblue and Kinoite. In fact, you can easily switch between them without reinstalling your system. All it takes is one command, and ostree will do the magic.

Fact checking.

So many people just believe anything they see or hear if it agrees with their worldview.
