Joke aside, this still make feel bad for spoofing my user agent to the classic chrome windows combo…

I’m not sure but maybe they use specific programs that aren’t available on Linux and the alternatives aren’t enough ( or even don’t exist )

So out of the 345 computers in Antarctica, one is Linux.

I’ve have good experience with MEGA, they were offering 50GB free when I signed up, I think they’re offering 20GB on their free tier now. Your files are stored on disk locally while also avaliable on the cloud via their website and mobile apps.

I dont know about caddy but nginx proxy manager does this very well. Also, if running in docker, you can expose the port that runs ssh for forgejo und a different port than the host machine‘s (eg 2222). In that case you just put the remote in with the port and call it a day.

nottelling , (edited ) to selfhosted in Caddy and forgejo

You don’t. That’s not what caddy is. Use a bastion for ssh.

Don’t forget that North Korea’s leader is very dear to the whole population and incorruptible, unlike evil South Korea’s leaders who were always super evil and corrupt and everything.

You’re asking why the dear leader is the only fat person in North Korea, especially when everyone else looks malnourished? Haha, funny person, off to jail you go.

tromars , (edited ) to science_memes in Lord of the SCIENCE

Not a scientist nor native English speaker myself, so I’m wondering: shouldn’t that technically say „hypothesis + evidence“ instead of „theory + evidence“? Which is of course nitpicky (if I’m even correct) in the context of a tumblr post, but I’m still curious

@fossilesque@mander.xyz avatar

A hypothesis is a theory, one that is being tested. It’s got the same root word in both theory and thesis!

mariusafa , to linux in What Linux distro surprised you the most?

Guix System. The way that this distro keeps track of changes of the distro itself. The concept of having a store where everything you build is stored there with write protection. The fact that you can configure not only the system but every home environment to every detail but without having to deal with various configuration files that you keep track of it.

The fact that all builds are bit by bit reproducible. The extensibility you have in your system.

It’s the first distro I feel that nothing in your own OS instance is tied to any distro decisions.

The fact that you can have multiple versions of the same library without breaking the system.

It has a lot of things that I never thought it could be possible with a distro without going crazy about creating a very messy configuration.
