Pure Browser, and then I disable Javascript.
Give it a try! Browsing the internet is lightning fast, and for pages that need Javascript I just load them in my other browser (Ecosia)

I found this software a couple of days ago. Not sure if it will really help with your first problem 😆 because I’m still figuring it out myself. But looks promising. github.com/wwmm/easyeffects

Interesting. This explains why posts never seem to have more than a few likes on the small Mastodon instance I use. I have to say I’m not a fan.

SorteKanin OP ,
@SorteKanin@feddit.dk avatar

Yep exactly, it also leads to Mastodon instances only seeing local likes for remote posts. You’ll never see remote likes on remote posts as they wouldn’t be sent to your instance. I honestly don’t understand how this hasn’t been a bigger problem for Mastodon, but I guess Mastodon is more about boosts and chronological timelines and less about sorting stuff based on likes.

I loved this game when I was 5-6 years old. I actually forgot about it now that I’m in my 20s but when GOG made that giveaway I immediately downloaded it. It’s still fun

PeriodicallyPedantic , to showerthoughts in I want an AI TV that blocks all forms of advertising.

Unfortunately this does not financially benefit the tv manufacturers, and may land them in trouble with the platforms they themselves advertise on (like Google).

They’re more likely to use AI to serve you more ads as an extra revenue stream; capitalism has gotta capital.

Does this really work? Wouldn’t rm remove itself in /bin early in the process?

rbn ,

I think it would continue even after it’s own deletion as the binary is already loaded into memory, so process is not dependent on the file system. Still doubt that it’ll complete successfully. Most likely the system crashes in the middle.

I thought - - no-preserve root also needed to be added as an argument for self destruct to completely work.

Arcity ,

rm doesn’t remove memory in RAM

Johanno ,

Since you forgot to add - - preserve-root It won’t go too far. But at some point the system wants to load a file that is deleted and the kernel will panic. System crash. Delete incomplete. But rest assured, the important stuff is gone.

tamiya_tt02 , to games in Why Do People Still Play Destiny 2?
@tamiya_tt02@lemmy.world avatar

I hate Destiny. It’s my favorite game.

I started playing D1 during the PS4 Alpha, then beta, and release. Loved it. Played almost daily through The Taken King, and got D2 on launch day. Played the Red War, then took a break. Dabbled in curse of Osiris, took a longer break, played a bit of Beyond Light, more break, then got back into Destiny last June and played a lot through Lightfall’s seasons and The Final Shape.

I truly enjoyed my time playing, but now I’m starting to feel pulled in other directions. I got into Warframe, and The Forever Winter looks really good. I tried Helldivers and it was ok, I don’t have a group to play it with and don’t enjoy randos.

Anyway, all that to say Destiny 2 is dangerously addictive. It feels so good to play. I especially enjoyed the 10-year saga wrapping up with The Final Shape. I’m a very casual gamer, but Destiny makes me feel powerful. That’s why I play.
