I love your personality and think we could be great friends, too.

Is there a limit to referrals?…

simple OP ,

I think so, but it doesn’t say how many you get.

sxt ,

If you’ve got an extra still I’d be down

Blisterexe ,

Wait how can i refer friends?

Reminds me of the old Dota 2 closed beta days… Good times. Also on an unrelated note, my DMs are open.

Kelly , (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in The world if Africa didn't exist

Fun fact: The ecosystems of the Amazon Basin rely on around 27.7 million tons of Saharan Dust each year to replace the phosphorus that is washed away by the rains. Without this constant input the local soils would have been stripped of needed nutrients and would be unable to support the plants that currently thrive there.

So my take from this is, the higher above ground level a sloth is, the lazier it gets.

“Filling” is the word you’re looking for, not “meat”.

No wonder they are often depicted with a small crucifix. It all makes sense now.

MonkderVierte , to science_memes in Can whales eat humans?

They’re Orcas, not “Killer whales”.

Darkassassin07 ,
@Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca avatar

They’re Maine Coons, not ‘House Cats’

They’re just commonly understood colloquial names.

HootinNHollerin , to askscience in Is there no electromagnetic force between the positively charged nucleus of an atom and the electrons?

This video by TK^o^ explains it very well youtu.be/xINR4MoqYVc

The electron orbits are quantized, with a lower limit. As found by Neils Bohr. Classical theory would have the electron attracted into the nucleus in a tiny fraction of a second. His theory was not liked by anyone at the time and he faced a lot of push back, but they eventually accepted it as it’s true.

ooterness , to science_memes in Can whales eat humans?

Orcas (so called “killer whales”) aren’t whales at all, they’re actually dolphins.

underscores ,
@underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Cladistically dolphins are a type of toothed whale. They’re more closely related to species like sperm whales than toothed whales and baleen whales are to each other.

Now a few of them have photos of flowers, but for a while I could scroll down like 50 of those things and they were all photos of my dog set to terrible autogenerated music. AI is the future.
